Answer to:
What do u get ur boyfriend 4 ur 3 year anniversary?
It depends what he likes! Three years is a long time so I would say it should be something very personal, that shows that you have really thought about it and want to show how much you appreciate him. Only you can know what this would be for your guy.

A new pill user, I started it on the second day of my period. Four days later I had unprotected sex - should I be taking the morning after pill?
I think to be safe, yes. Back when I started (oh so long ago) they recommended that you had to take the pill for a month before it kicks in, but now as far as I know they say a week if you start on the first day of your period. So four days would still be too soon.

If you had to pay $1 for every time you cursed, how soon would you be bankrupt?
I don't curse that much - probably around four times a day, so that would be about £2.50. I could probably afford that, though I might have to give up something else - maybe smoothies.
Answer to:
WHen you raise a kid are you going to do it like your parents raised you? or the opposite? why?
In some ways yes, and in some ways no. When I was young my parents hired other people to look after me, some of whom were good and some really not. I would never do this to my children - I would look after them myself, get my husband to do it or get friends and family to help out.
However, once I became a teenager and the au pairs had left my parents were very good - supportive, liberal,...

I have a boss who sometimes hits me and touches me inappropriately. i really hate it. What should i do? He is a close family friend and goes to my church. Im a 15 yr old girl, hes a married man?
Whether he is a family friend or not, and however hard it may be, this behaviour is wrong and you should report it immediately. To your parents, other people at work (preferably someone senior), and perhaps even the police, depending on exactly what he has done to you. People who do this kind of thing have to be stopped, and you should not let yourself be cowed or bullied by them.

Is it true the ozone layer acts as a shield between us and ultraviolet radiation
If it remains in a good condition, yes. However, if it is damaged as it has been over the last 50 years and cracks and holes start to appear, it cannot stop excess radiation entering the atmosphere and remaining here, contributing to the heating up of the atmosphere.

Why hasnt the USA had a female president yet?
This is a good question - it certainly seems strange that the USA has not while countries such as India have. Possibly no stand-out female candidates have tried to run for President yet, or possibly the American people as a whole are still on some level uncomfortable about having a female leader, still seeing a male leader as stronger.
Hopefully this may change soon though....

Which is older, alcohol or religion?
I am afraid the answer to this is that we simply don't know. The oldest evidence of 'religion' so far discovered, though this is slightly hazy and depends on how you define the word, dates from around 40,000- 30,000 years ago, when complex cave paintings, statuettes of robust women (mother godesses?) and ritual burial seem to appear, suggesting some form of superstitious belief...

Why dont teens listen to some warnings or advices we think it will never happen to us?(I thought it was hollywood hype "its not")
Teenagers have just reached the age where they are no longer protected and controlled, and are more free to make their own decisions and live their own way. It is only natural that they want to exploit this and not listen to other people's opinions or advice.
Over the next ten years or so they will suffer some knocks and start to work these things out for themselves. This is, after...

Are the species we evolved from considered extinct?
The term 'species' separates groups that are unable to successfully reproduce together. It is of course not known if homo habilis, homo erectus, homo heidelbergensis etc. could have bred successfully with homo sapiens (though there may be some evidence that homo neanderthalis could) as they no longer survive. However, it is assumed not, which is why they are referred to as separate...

Why is the side of your head(temple)so painful when it is put under preasure?
The area of the skull under the temples is called the frontal bone, and is the thinnest of all the major skull bones. It is also shielded by only a very thin layer of flesh compared to the rest of the skull, and contains a disproportionate amount of nerve cells. The pain reflex in this area is stronger to attempt to protect the frontal lobes of the brain, which are directly underneath this area...

Can a person survive on a diet of soda, fries, burgers, chocolate shakes and chips?
They would survive for a while, but not for long. This diet is very high in sugar, so obesity, diabetes and heart failure would start to become real problems in less than a year. It is also completely lacking in vitamins, so conditions like scurvy, which can be fatal, would start to have a real impact in as little as six months.
I would not think someone could survive on this diet for...

Is it wise to do two different sets of yoga a day? Recently I bought two yoga for dummies dvds, and one is a weight loss and toning workout, the other is just yoga basics. Should I do both in one day or just one at a time?
I would think that if they are both designed to be done once a day doing them both might be too much. Yoga is surprisingly strenuous and one exercise session a day is enough for anyone.
I would start off on the basics and move on to the other, that way they will last you twice as long.

Of course they should - if we did not have competent professionals prepared to carry out this surgery we would be back to the nasty world of back-street abortions, from which a great many women died or were made permanently infertile. Why is it hard for some people to say 'I love you'?
1) Because they have been hurt in the past and are unwilling to admit that they have fallen for someone again

3) Because they have trouble vocalising their feelings
Probably in that order.

I think football is getting gradually more popular in the US, despite the drawbacks that Brew guy mentions (which are also resented by a lot of people in the UK). The lack of scoring is a real problem though, I can see Americans getting fed up with that.

If all matter has gravitational attraction to all other matter, then will the universe eventually pull itself back together?
This is a very interesting question, and one on which I believe scientists are still divided. The universe is certainly still expanding, but no-one seems sure whether this will continue ad infinitum or whether it will all start to come back in eventually, causing a Big Crunch.

How do you manage to eat healthy when you are living in a busy, pick-up-food-to-go world?
Weirdly it was being a poor student that made me a healthier eater. On a £10 a week food budget you simply cannot afford ready meals or take aways. I had to buy basic ingredients - rice, bread, potatoes, pasta, cheese, eggs and vegetables - and work out what to do with them. I came out of university used to eating good homemade meals with no addtivies in them, and that's the way I...

Lethal injection, electrocution, firing squad, hanging or the gas chamber? Why?
Firstly, I agree with GoodTimesNoodleSalad on the subject of the death penalty.
However, if I had to choose it would be firing squad, assuming it was a good firing squad. Hanging is far too painful and the other three all have their problems and are so clinical - I really hate the idea of a legalized, sanitised death.
Just shoot me.

Beauty Pageants for children: Beneficial, rewarding and maturing or harmful, abusive and humiliating?
Sinister, I just find them sinister. We should not be teaching our children that the most important thing in life is to be pretty. I do not think it can do anything for the children - to lose must be very upsetting, especially if the parents make a big deal out of it, and to win must give a child a very strange view of the world.

How do you react to antagonistic and argumentative comments to your answers?
I generally try to respond in a reasonable, calm manner and explain my position, in case there has been a misunderstanding.
Usually this works, but if someone is not willing to enter into a friendly debate I tend to just stop replying and make a mental note to avoid them in future!

Colud anyone explain why it's important for the body to maintain stable blood pressure(within a normal range), and what structures are primarily responsible for detecting any change?
Blood vessels and the circulatory system, like every other part of the body, deteriorate with age. If blood is pumping at an abnormally high pressure this puts further strain on the vessels and organs involved, which is why it can lead to heart problems and aneurysms.
Blood pumping at too low a pressure (which I have) is in some ways less dangerous, but can drop too far when a person is...

Cadburys Cream Eggs - how do you eat yours?
I try to eat the chocolate first, but it is a bit of a challenge:
First you bite one of the ends off. Then you carefully chew away the chocolate from one side, balancing the gooey inside on the other half. Then you have to tip the insides onto one quarter of the shell (moving it around constantly helps) while eating more and more of the chocolate, until you have the whole inside balanced on...

Of course not, everyone is allowed to sing their anthem (however badly) and the All Blacks should be allowed to perform their haka however they want to.
I watched the game where they had to perform in the dressing room and it was really annoying - you could see that the crowd were really disappointed too. It is something everyone looks forward to when the All Blacks are playing.

Although it is difficult to answer this question without knowing more as JamesBlack points out, I think it would be hard to continue a relationship where one of you is sure they are not in love with the other. Atheism isn't a religion, as it does not involve a belief in any divine being/s, has no places of worship or traditions, etc.

The idea of staying with your first love forever is beautiful, and some people do manage it.
However, I think it takes a lot more to make...

Ok, i am poor, lol, and want to do something amazing for my man! any advice?
I agree with the meal thing. And wear something sexy!
Plus search charity shops for something funny - a toy he told you he had as a child, a top hat, an obscure martial arts video, just browse until you see something he would like. Men always like strange presents, and they don't have to be expensive.

Any thoughts on Final Fantasy VIII?
Yay another final fantasy question! I think VIII is a bit underrated, it is still a good game it just couldn't measure up to VII. I played it again recently and it was pretty good - but the drawing magic from creatures thing was a big pain. And it felt like it was trying to be a bit more grown up - the people had less silly proportions, the colours weren't as bright, chocobos...

Do you resent celebrities having so much money and squandering it on frivilous things for themselves instead of spending it on the needy?
I think one of the main arguments for high taxation of the wealthy is exactly this - they do not usually give their money to charity or distribute it evenly into society. Instead they distribute it to luxury car manufacturers, clothes designers, private jet companies, and other worthy recipients.
If they won't spent some of it sensibly and help the rest of society, we should make 'em.

When I open my fridge, it smells like out of date food.

Protestants based their faith on the bible alone(sola scriptura);cathlics on the bible and tradition. which is correct?
Too much blood and ink has been spilt over this question in the last five hundred years, and I am afraid it is still a matter of opinion.
My opinion? Neither.
However, from an atheistic British point of view the Church of England, who are willing to debate the meaning of the bible, are a lot easier to stomach than a Catholic church that clings on to some rather offensive traditional...

Answer to:
Breakfast for dinner?
Definitely! Breakfast is my favourite meal because:
-It is quick and easy to cook
-It is filling but still quite healthy
-You can just keep adding bits on, rather than eating it as one course (I think I will now have some fruit, then another piece of toast, then perhaps a yoghurt, and then a fried egg sandwich...)
It should be eaten as often as possible.

Is there something wrong with a person who doesn't think there's a point in building relationships because they're going to get screwed over in the end regardless?
It is called negativity, pessimism or fatalism. I think most people have been there at some point, but although it may seem impossible you have to keep trying to be positive again, or you are denying yourself the chance to be happy.
Just look at Elizabeth Taylor. Eight marriages, and she seems to have approached each one with the optimism of a toddler. Atta girl.

Answer to:
Do you consider people who wear jeans and t-shirts to work low class?
As an archaeologist, the dress code is reversed - the scruffier the better. Occasionally someone will turn up to work wearing something nice (once a girl turned up in a skirt!), but it is exceedingly annoying watching them try to stay out of the mud all day - doing no work.
As archaeology is a graduate profession I would say that it disproves any link between class and work clothes.

Answer to:
Have you ever had a crush on someone that was so intense you felt like you would explode if one of you didnt "make a move"?
Yes, but the reason it got so bad was that one of us was with someone else. Naturally, it all ended in tears.
Was it worth it? Well, when it finally happened, it was the most amazing kiss of my life. I guess it is something everyone should experience once, but personally I don't think I could go through it again. Some relationships are too intense to be good for anyone.

Do you think god made us so we'd worship him or enjoy ourselves. (I think of myself as god when I'm playing "The Sims" and I wouldn't want my people I create to worship me, I'd want them to enjoy theirselves and learn from their mistakes).(just a thought)
I am afraid I think we are a wonderful evolutionary accident, and therefore like the rest of the animal kingdom are primarily meant to:
- Reproduce our species
- Enjoy life
However, we have also developed unparallelled mental and moral capabilities, with which we could make our world a better place for all in it, human, animal or plant.
So why don't we?
Because humans,...

What is the best video game out of all the systems ever?
I can never decide myself. There is really no way to talk about this without being geeky so here goes:
7 is possibly the greatest game ever in terms of gameplay, it was just so vast and fun. And the materia system of assigning character abilities has probably never been bettered. And the golden saucer...
10 is just so beautiful! I also like the sphere grid system, and most of the...

In a society where divorce has become the norm, is marriage really all that sacred?
I think a lot of people rush into marriage, or do it for the wrong reasons, and I don't agree with that.
On the other hand, I think people look at the divorce rates in too negative a way. Divorce is now pretty easy, which I reckon is a good thing considering how many people used to stick in unhappy marriages. And we expect more from marriage now. Rather than just kids, stability, and...

What was your worst illogical childhood fear?
Sharks. I think I watched Jaws too young and for about three years I couldn't swim in the sea. And swimming pools were also suspect, I would tell myself there couldn't be a shark in something so small but then I would get in and start to get scared.... Seems crazy now.
But I still won't go diving, even though my boyfriend raves about it!

I'm 16 and he's 22. he says he loves me, but he's willing to wait until i turn 18 to date. for now we're just hanging out in groups and stuff. should i let him wait? or should i tell him to move on? we've known each other for 7 years and i love him too...
I have a feeling this may make me unpopular... but 16 and 22 is not that big an age gap! Anyone who describes 22 year old boys as 'men' can't know many, and I certainly did not consider myself a 'child' at 16.
If you are over 16 it is all perfectly legal and if you get on and don't feel the age gap (which is surely the biggest problem in terms of a...
