If you choose the army national guard, you'll have to go to Basic training and then AIT right afterwards, which'll take a few months, depending on your job....It'd be best to start college after that, if you're interest in joining within a year or so...If not, get some college courses out of the way...You get a higher ranking upon signing on with hours of college
