About me: Photobucket
I don’t like to take myself too seriously and tend to keep things on a light-hearted tone. I love humor and use it both in daily life as well as in AB.
I know some issues are nothing to joke about and deserve a more serious approach, I try my best to separate those two and be judicious about it.

I STRONGLY BELIEVE IN:
Respect, Courtesy, A developed sense of humor, Wittiness, Flexibility, Being helpful, Learning something new every day.

I DON’T CARE AT ALL FOR:
Trolling, Insults, Lack of humor, Point Misers, Instigators.

I'll make an effort in trying to respect your opinion, even if it differs from mine. Although I can be a little stubborn and opinionated at times I can admit when I'm wrong.

Some of you might recall I once ran a somewhat frequent feature on this profile called "Random Stuff".For a while now I have been publishing a blog (if you can call it that) called Unbearable Lightness of Randomness. Drop by anytime, it isn't wordy or boring, I've even been told is semi-entertaining ; )

ABOUT ME AND SOME OF MY INTERESTS:

• This is what I look like.

• I'm 43 years-old, married to a wonderful woman with two fantastic sons. I work as an architect and enjoy every aspect of my profession.

• I'm a Guatemalan.
My country is quite small but it is a beautiful and colorful one.

(Thanks for the pics, Bro)

The Guatemalan Tourism Board INGUAT , offers valuable information as well.

• I enjoy MUSIC, specially Rock music in almost all sub-genres.
I won't mention all the groups or artists I like here, the list would be too long.
You can look for the music section in ULR to get an idea of my favorite artists, songs, etc.

• I'm also a MOVIES nut. I have a decent-sized DVD collection that my family and I enjoy watching at home. I rarely go to the movie theaters anymore unless it's an "event" picture which is much better appreciated on the big screen.
As far as movie sites go, I highly recommend these:
Rotten Tomatoes. IMDB. Filmsite. Film.com.

• I enjoy watching many SPORTS.

F.C. Barcelona
is a first division Football (Soccer) team from Spain, and it's a passion of mine.
I also love the city as I lived there for two years when I was a kid.

My AB username, in case you don't know by now, is short for Barcelona = Barca and love = luv.
Many times my avatar on AB will feature who I think is Barcelona's "Player of the week", other times I'll simply go with a team-related theme.F.C. Barcelona also likes to give back and have formed an alliance with UNICEF, a very worthy organization.

• BOOKS:
I'm an avid reader as well, that's one of my vices. I like to read mostly contemporary authors and once in a while I will pick up a classic novel. Here's my Shelfari account in case you feel like dropping by.
I also devour magazines, newspapers, articles on the web, etc.

Other subjects that are also interesting to me: The Arts, Psychology, Philosophy, Astronomy, Biology and Zoology, Geography, Linguistics and Etymology of words.

MY TAKE ON AB AND ITS FEATURES:

QUESTIONS:
Most of mine fall in the conversational type. In my opinion, those questions are what make AB different and set it head and shoulders above any other Q & A site. They increase the feeling of AB being a community and they open up communication and understanding (Hopefully ) ; )
Only once in a while I'll ask a fact-based question.

ANSWERS:
All answers I give are based on my perception of the intent of the question. If it deserves a serious, well-thought answer, I’ll do my best to provide one.
If a question is humorous or light-hearted in tone, my answer will be too.

When I answer a factual question I almost always like to post links for further reading and as source for my answer, so you don't have to "take my word for it".

Please remember Answerbag is also a Database, a source that many people might consult at a given time.
I've seen Answerbag answers pop-up as results in many a Google search, for example. I do believe this is not to be taken lightly, the more good answers are provided for any subject, the more credibility Answerbag will have in the eyes of people not familiar to the site, or one-time users who might come back or recommend the site if the answers were helpful.

COMMENTS:
I’m a firm believer in the usefulness of comment threads despite my tongue-in-cheek approach here: http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/1051394
Comments are a way to expand on an answer given, have a great conversation, give additional kudos to those who deserve it, etc. You’ll see me a lot around there.

MODERATION:
I do my fair amount of moderation, although as a CL I no longer get awarded any "lIke" points for doing so.
The primary objective of this feature is to help AB remain a friendly, easy to navigate site.
This is accomplished by trying to reduce the number of duplicate questions, questions that are wrongly categorized, nonsense (as in gibberish, not material that might be silly/weird but is legible and has an appropriate context) and hopefully getting rid of spammers and very offensive postings.

FRIENDS:
I have no problem with anyone adding me to their 'Friends' List, I'm honored they considered me, however I'll deny some requests if I don't know that person well enough or have never exchanged words or had any kind of rapport with them.
Talk to me first, I don't bite! (hard) ; )

I’m really grateful for many things that AB has given me:
Knowledge, lots of laughs and entertainment, the opportunity to meet great people from all over the world and even forming hopefully long-lasting friendships with some of them.
