If your child was molested and they didn't remember it (sleeping, blocked it out etc.), would you tell them it happened? Yes. Even if a person does not remember being molested, the effects are still there. It would be frustrating and horrible to have those problems and not know where they were stemming from. Not to mention that most repressed memories come back. I think that to recover from it, you'd have to know. It'd be a hard thing to tell your child, but I would.

Why doesn't Child Protective Services let the kid choose whether to stay or go? Because, in most cases, the kids would stay. Children grow used to what they know. If abuse is all they've ever known, they won't understand that it is wrong. Also, and I say this from experience, there is a lot of fear in the thought of leaving. There are professionals trained to talk to children and find out what has or hasn't taken place. My friend cuts herself but kind of tells everyone about it. She does not keep to herself or cover it up. Should I take her seriously? It sounds to me like she is looking for attention. That being said though, if you know she is cutting herself (you've seen the scars/cuts) yes, you should take her very seriously. It doesn't seem to matter why, if she is cutting herself she needs support. There may be other emotional issues underlying her need for attention. Talk to her, and let her know you are serious.

I'm moving out after graduation. It'd be mean, but I can't help but think about leaving a note for my parents telling them that I never felt accepted by them. They don't accept my lifestyle. What would you do if you saw a car full of naked people? Ignore it. I have done, on several different occasions. it's not that uncommon to see naked people in public here. hell, we have a naked bike parade every summer solstice.

Extremely. the first cut is probably the least painful, because you're cutting through new skin. after that you're cutting through layer upon layer of skin and tissue and veins. it's rough, like slowly ripping apart your arm. it's excruciating, i've passed out while cutting my wrist before. believe me, not the way to go.

I think that we should adopt the policy that many places in Europe have, where to get a cart you insert a coin, and when you return the cart you get a coin back. It seems to work quite well.

If a friend on AB tells you that you can contact him/her anytime with any problem you may me going through, would you usually take him/her up on the offer. If not, why? It depends. Usually I keep most things to myself, but occasionally when I need serious help I do reach out to AB asking for it. Many users have offered me their hand in friendship, and asked me to talk to them when I need something. Some of these offers I have accepted, others I have appreciated but other than that disregarded. It just depends on the person and the circumstance.

What would you do if you overeacted to something a friend said about you and they no longer want anything to do with you? Is it worth trying to fix it even if the friendship was in its infancy? I would definitely try to fix it. if i had made a mistake, i would attempt to make amends. friendship means a lot to me, and i value it greatly. i would risk a lot for it, and if that meant apologizing and losing some of my pride, it'd be worth it. and as for it being a beginning friendship, dont cast it aside because it is just starting. you never know what it could become. :)
