On my Windows XP home, there are always 15+ "processes" under "Administrator" running in the background. Is there any way to stop them without CTRL-ALT-Delete-ing every 10 minutes? Run a Virus scan in "safe mode". If it doesn't find anything, then the processes are required to be running for XP to function correctly. Or, you may have some programs on your computer that just run in the background and if you dont use them you can stop them by doing a bit of tidying up in your "add/remove programs" list.
