If you're in HS, one big factor is that they're being HS girls. Just be a nice guy, and don't stare at good-looking girls because they're sick of it and because it's depressing for girls who don't see themselves as good-looking to see you do it, and realize that personality is 20x more important...

In the US, "public school" means a governmentally-run school. In the UK, "public school" means a private school. They also call the second floor "the first floor", but they're good people regardless.
