Answer to:
My 7 years old son has habit of repeating last words after he has spoken the sentence. There are no particular words. Is anything wrong about it?
I believe this specific speech disorder is called Immediate Echolalia. I have a friend that does this (late 30's now) and he cannot explain why he feels compelled to do it and is often not even aware that it is happening. You can try googling it to see if you get any ideas or try talking with a speech therapist.
Answer to:
Do you ever feel you are being punished or made to feel guilty for something that isn't your fault?
I often feel like my husband is angry at me for the way he feels about himself. He is so disappointed with his life and I think that sometimes that disappointment is transferred into anger at me for not being the miracle he thought I was.

Answer to:
Are you obligated to dedicate yourself to the good of the society?
I firmly believe in the concept of "pay it forward". I do not have much money, but I am always looking for ways to "give back" to my community. I volunteer at least once a week and I make donations to both the clothing and food pantries when I can. I believe that it is my obligation to help my community because I don't know any other way. I think that we don't...

Do you have a really good friend with a partner you can't stand?
Actually, I have a really good friend that I think is a rotten partner. She treats her husband like dirt and he is such a good guy. Military man, college student, great father, smart, funny. She has nothing good to say about him and it drives me nuts. I barely know the guy, but I feel for him. She is a total shrew.

Do you have a middle name, if so is it the same as a parent or grandparents name?
My mom came up with my middle name all on her own. For my kids however, I believe that the middle name should be of importance and be tied to a person that you really care about, or has some meaning to your family.
Oldest daughter = my middle name
Oldest son = dad's middle name
Youngest daughter = my best friend's name
Youngest son = grandpa's name

What is something (besides children or pets) that you give names to?
Many people name their cars or boats. Additionally, people have been known to name plants or other favorite inanimate objects. For example, I sleep with a pillow that is older than I am. As a child I would drag him everywhere with me, and I told my sister that I was going to marry my pillow. She said, "Oh yeah?" What's his name? and so I replied, "Sam". and that...

She is 12 almost 13, i am almost 16. i think i like her alot. in your OPINION am i too old?
When I was a teenager, I would have said no. I thought I was really mature for my age and had a child when I was 16. I thought I knew what was what and that people should have allowed me to make my own decisions. Looking back now (in my thirties), I made so many stupid decisions just because I didn't have the life experience to tell me what was stupid. At 12, this girl is much younger...

My boyfriend broke up with me throught and email 3 days ago,and i just found out im pregnant. should i even tell him, im scared hes gonna think its not his,or im just sayin that im preg,we were only together for 5 months.
You absolutely have to tell him. Your decisions are going to affect this child. You need to let him know and if he chooses to question his paternity, then contact the child support recovery agency in your state and find out what your options are in obtaining a test to establish paternity. Do not beg and plead this man to come back to you as no baby has ever had the power to heal a bad...

All you Feminists, I have a question: If cooking is "demeaning women’s work" then why are most of the world's best chefs men?
This is an argument that a feminist would give in response to being told that cooking is women's work. She would say, "Were you aware that most of the world's best chefs are men"? He would say something moronic, as stupid men that think along this way are apt to do, and she would feel frustrated by his inability to produce real thought. I don't know how this question...

This book, "Twilight" by Stephanie Meyer, looks vaguely interesting but is incredibly popular with teenage girls. Has anyone here read it? and if you have, will the writing style and storytelling appeal to adults, or is it a teenybopper story gone goth?
My daughter read the books last summer when her Young Women leader recommended them (We are Mormon). I agreed to see the movie with her although I find vampires to be laughable. I enjoyed Anne Rice as a teen, but that was so long ago. After seeing the movie, my interest was piqued and I agreed to read the books. Twilight was torture for me as it was so slow and the writing style was geared...

Who is better, Jacob Black or Edward Cullen?
Jacob is a spoiled and selfish a**hole. He never thinks of anyone but himself and he does all that he can to split up Bella and Edward. Edward is so patient with him because he loves Bella. He even allows him to be at the wedding, which Jacob subsequently finds another way to hurt Bella. he does not love Bella, just himself and he is having a tantrum when he can't get what he wants. Answer to:
Which book of the Twilight series is your favorite and why? New Moon is my favorite because I really like Jacob and it shows what a comforting friend he was to Bella.
I am nearly done with Eclipse, but so far New Moon has been my favorite. Although I hated Jacob throughout the entire book, I was on the edge of my seat waiting for Edward to return. I don't hate Jacob because I prefer Edward. Jacob is just a jerk. He bullies Bella and any time he is nice to her is for his own selfish needs. He wasn't a comfort to Bella, but a distraction. He...
Answer to:
Who is your least favorite character from Twilight?
I cannot stand Jacob. I am nearly done with Eclipse and he is a whiny and pompous jerk. I want Edward to kill him already. I have no idea what Bella sees in hi, even when he was just "her Jacob", as she puts it. He does not have one redeeming quality. It is not surprising that his feelings for Bella are strong. Half the boys at Forks High wanted to ask her out before her first...

If I felt like I wasn't even allowed to talk about something that was bothering me in the relatioship, that would be a reason for me to leave. There is only a 25% chance of us having children with anything but dark hair, but it has happened 4 times now. Answer to:
Can you forgive someone you love even though they knowingly hurt you?
Forgiveness is often something that we do for ourselves. As a child from a violently abusive home, I grew up to have several barriers in relationships. When my mother, the abuser, interacted with me, I became very neurotic. I was prone to shaking, vomiting, and going on screaming rampages after a brief phone call with her. Around the time that my 2nd child was born, I did some personal...

My 5 year old daughter totally un-pottytrained herself when her baby brother was born. I refused to go back to diapers, so I was dealing with 10-20 accidents a day, including bm's. Why in a time when men and women are treated as equals is it still seen as unnaceptable to hit a woman if she initiates the violence.
First of all, men and women have yet to reach a place where they are being treated as equals. If you think they have, do more research. Secondly, it is wrong to hit someone that is weaker than you. Should a parent slap their child across the face because "they initiated it"? No, you utilize personal restraint and walk away. This woman shoudl have charges brought against her if...

She already knows what you told her all that time ago. Being reminded of that will do nothing to help her situation. They have been married such a short time and need to learn a lot about marriage. the best thing you can do is support her in saving her marriage and perhaps suggest some counseling. When should they take their nap, eat, go to bed for the nite?

7am wake
8am breakfast
930am snack
1130am lunch
1230-2pm nap
230pm snack
530pm dinner
7pm snack

I feel that many parents run into this when they allow their adult children to live at home. She needs to understand that as long as she is living at home, she needs to respect your rules. You can talk with her without berating her and commenting on her morals. It doesn't need to be a full blown attack. Just be sure that she is clear on your rules and that men sleeping over is...

The doctor gave me a due date of March 25 2009. My last period started on June 8. I had sex with man 1 june 21-24 and than with man 2 on june 28. Who fathered my child. I did not use protection with man 1 is he the dad if so why is due date so far.
This depends a lot on how long your cycles are. If you have a normal cycle range of 28 days, then it is much more likely that man1 fathered your child, as ovulation would have occurred during those dates. A longer cycle, 29-35 days, would make it more likely that man2 is the father. i am assuming that you have a longer cycle, as your date is a little further out. However, these dates are...

Im 11w 2d pregnant, feeling fine, but whats my chance of miscarriage now?
If you have had an ultrasound, and seen the heartbeat, your chance drops to 5%. For a healthy woman, her chance of miscarriage is 10-25% until 13 weeks. If she sees a heartbeat, then that drops to 5%. I believe that after 13 weeks, the risk falls to about 1%. These numbers change somewhat if a woman has had recurrent miscarriages or is currently experiencing vaginal bleeding.

Do u think a girl becomes more attractive to a guy if they know you like them?
Having had poor self-esteem in high school, I only developed crushes on the guys that showed an interest in me. I would become flirty and make an effort to be around them more often. I think this is a way that a lot of young people protect themselves. I'm sure that I made myself more attractive to the guy as that was my full intention, LOL!

Whats Worse,,Toothache or Hangover?
Toothache. Toothache. Toothache. With a hangover, you drink some water, eat a bagel, and camp out on your couch and you can get relatively comfortable. With a toothache, the pain takes over your entire head and it is impossible to get away from. It just continues to throb and worsen until you can see a dentist. This is always fun when it happens at 2am and you have no health insurance.

I don't think this is strange at all. Most women will register for their baby showers as they are trying to follow themes and don't want to end up with 23 baby blankets. You have the right to diverge from that list, but they are some great suggestions so that you will bring a gift that she can really use. If you are really wanting her to take a bottle, then you need to be offering them much more frequently. Try cutting out one nursing session entirely and making the bottle the only choice at that time. Somebody else should offer the bottle and it should be at a time when she is starting to get hungry, but is not very upset.

Sandra Bullock is simply adorable and I want to chew her ear off. Courtney Cox looks is capable of being gorgeous, but her looks change a lot. Teri Hatcher should just crawl under a rock and go away forever. She scares me. Just to leave it fair, I will post a picture of myself to judge too.

What do you think about this? My mom's friend was mad at her daughter and when they went out to dinner the mom wouldn't let the daughter order anything and made her sit there and watch her(the mom) eat as punishment.
Well, I have a teenage daughter and she can be downright evil. One time, when her attitude was so that I couldn't tolerate it anymore, (rude, ungrateful, attacking), I kept my lunch plans with a friend and told her she could have a sandwich when we got home. She chose to sit in the car while we ate, although I told her she could come in and have something to drink.

Your likelihood of having twins has more to do with your family history than that of your partner. While he could have some influence, it is more directly related to the mother's ovaries and her likelihood of eggs that split or to ovulate with more than one egg at a time. It sounds like you have a fair chance of becoming pregnant with twins.

You will need to begin menstruating again first, and even then, it does not necessarily mean that you are ovulating. Once your period returns, purchase some cheap ovulation predictor strips (about $0.60 each) online and just test every day to see if you are ovulating. The chances are slim. In fact, if you can prove that he abandoned your child (no money and no contact for one full year), then you may be able to terminate his parental rights. Get family and friends to write letters discussing your relationship with your child and the detrimental effects it would have on him/her if you were to lose custody.

My boyfriend and i have seriously dated for five months. I recently bought a new bicycle so we could ride together this summer. Today is my birthday. He got me a new pair of bicycle gloves, two cliff power bars and a card. What does this mean?
It means that he is paying attention to your interests and wanted to get you something you would like. My husband of 6 years always gets me practical gifts. It used to bother me, but now I have learned to appreciate his thoughtfulness in getting things that make my life easier. Then I just go out and get myself the pedicure :)

Answer to:
Don't you just hate living check to check? I can't take the anticipation, I need the next check now!
Every month, I write on the calendar what comes in and what goes out. Some weeks, after paying bills, there is like $17 left for gas, food, misc. However, I know some that don't even have enough to pay bills, so I don't complain too much. It is hard though, sometimes, when a friend invites me to the movies and it is overbudget.

I have stayed home with my baby for the last year, but I still really like Fridays. They just leave this feeling of excitement and contentment in the air. I know my kids will be home all weekend and my husband will get some time off and I can order pizza for dinner and I just love Fridays!

I would sit down with him and let him know that his behavior is unacceptable to you. Using more "I" statements than accusatory statements, let him know that you feel jealous and hurt by him giving intimate attention to another woman. Let him know that you need him to stop and that you don't feel comfortable having secrets between you. If he continues the relationship, then you...

Try having everyone write down the name of the one person they would be okay sharing a room with. If one person gets the most votes, they can pick the roomie that they want. Obviously, these two people will split 1/3 of the rent.

Okay, I know some about this, so hopefully I will make sense.
Any man can sign the declaration of paternity. After he signs it, he has 5 years to contest it. This is to protect the child. If another man establishes paternity, the state will usually change the birth certificate themselves to reflect that information. You have no say in the matter, unless he were to sign away his rights...

I went through this when my husband and I had our first child. Part of the problem was that I wasn't giving him much confidence to care for her. I hovered constantly and always corrected him. When we had our second child, I did a much better job of allowing him to father him in his own way. If the baby cried while I was busy, I let his dad handle it. I didn't ask permission to go...

Well, I don't know a ton about cars. I do know that even with a bad alternator, your battery can still be charged. It just won't be able to be re-charged by the alternator as you drive, so it will just die again. I am guessing it isn't the alternator. You may need to keep the battery hooked up for as long as an hour, depending on how dead the battery is. Sometimes it takes a...

In my opinion, it is said when a person doesn't feel good when they are around you and they want different things and think that makes them a bad guy. I let my daughter walk the two blocks to kindergarten by herself as I watched. I was able to see her the whole way. My current 5 year old would never be responsible enough. Typically, child care assistance is paid to any person that the parent assigns to care for her child. It is much easier for a registered provider to get paid than a non registered person. Do you believe people can be talked into changing their bad ways or is change something that has to come from within that person?
Have you ever tried to help a teenager see the err of their ways. You can talk and talk to a person, but none of it will sink in until they want to change. That does not mean that you just blow them off, it simply means that wearing a person down as you try to change them does nothing to further your cause, other than alienate a person that you may sincerely care about.

Do you ever get annoyed when you ask a question about a random situation and people automatically assume you are somehow involved? Or worse, start lecturing YOU because of it? Any idea why people do this?
Yeah, sometimes I am somehwat involved, but I give no implications as to my own personal belief (i.e. Do you think I should cheat on my husband?) and people assume that I must favor the idea in my question (i.e. Do you think it is wrong to make assumptions about people?) That gets pretty annoying too. I think anytime someone gets up on their soapbox with me, based on a short question, it is...

I broke up with my boyfriend 8 weeks ago. Since then he has used mutual friends to "tell her I said hi", and drop off unnecessary petty belongings of mine left at his house...we have had no contact since the breakup. What's the message?
I would say that he is trying to cme off as a really mature, super nice guy. He wants you to remember how thoughtful and generous he is. If you do not have an interest of ever getting back together, I would make that clear. Send a letter, a text, call him up, whatever. If you are interested, ask him out for coffee or the equivalent. Just see how he reacts to the invite.

When was the last time you were excited for something, and it didn't happen? Were you disappointed?
My husband started his job in June and heard rumors around November that his boss gave out Christmas bonuses. It seemed to be about a week's pay, depending on what that was for each person. We were really excited and even began to plan to have that money for Christmas. He never got it. Which Desperate Housewife character are you more like?
I am a lot like Lynette. I have four kids that kind of turn my house upside down all of the time. I am in control of everything all of the time, including my husband, and I always take on too much.
I aspire to be Bree with her perfect home and perfect manners, but a wildcat when she feels the need to protect her children.

Didn't Linette have three boys on Desperate Housewives?
Yes. The twins are Parker and Porter. The youngest boy, Preston, has only been shown twice, I believe, since the season started. Penny is the little girl.

Is it bad getting pregnant again within 2 months of having a miscarriage?
Most doctors will recommend waiting anywhere from 1-3 cycles before attempting to conceive again. This is to give the uterus time to heal. You are most fertile after having been pregnant, regardless of how the pregnancy ended. The only exception to this would be if you are breastfeeding. I am stating these things from experience with many doctors as well as fertility specialists.

Sometimes when people are unhappy they quietly withdraw and keep it to themselves. Some people let everyone know in detail, chapter and verse, why-how-who done them wrong. Do you keep things to yourself or do you let it all out?
I tend to let my husband and a good friend know. Then, when it doesn't get better or I feel like people aren't understanding, I withdraw. I am learning to let people know what I need from them, rather than expecting everyone to read my mind and getting hurt when they can't.

How many ounces should a 3 to 4 month old baby should be eating?
A baby this age could probably eat about 6 ounces every 3-4 hours. This varies with each infant, but 6 ounces would probably be a good average. Since this is the breastfeeding category, i would guess that you are pumping and wondering how much to offer in a bottle. I would offer 4 ounces, and then gradually add 2 more until the baby seems satisfied. Most babies will not overeat.
Answer to:
My daughter is 5 mo can she eat yougurt?
Personally, I would wait until your child is at least 6 months before feeding any other foods than cereal. However, if your child really seems to be wwanting more foods and your dr. has approved it, yogurt is an okay place to start. Start with plain for a few reasons. 1)You don't want to mix different foods (dairy and fruit) to help narrow down allergic reactions 2)You want your baby...

I would dice up peaches, offer bananas, chopped broccoli, graham crackers, pasta, etc. Many babies just don't like the consistency of pureed foods. If your child has teeth, his dr. may allow you to start offering some diced meats, such as chicken or ground beef. I have 4 children and most of them were eating dinner with the family by 10 months.

Well, I think that it would be rude. I nurse in public and do it as discreetly as possible without using a blanket to cover my son's head. Were you trying to wean? Did your breasts just start to dry up? I suppose that a lot of crying could have triggered your body's natural letdown reflex. There is a continued debate about this among physicians. They are really unsure of what and how much is passed through to the baby. If you take the time to have an enjoyable feeding time with your baby, chances are he/she will be more satisfied, giving you longer periods between feedings to get other things down. If you were to adopt a dog, where would you go to get it?
Well, when my family is thinking about a new pet, we simply keep our eyes and ears open and know that he/she will find us. We check out shelters, scan the paper, look at signs at local stores, and just know when it is right. We just found our newest addidtion on Monday and we hadn't even been looking!

Do you feel like people in general don't make enough effort to get to know their neighbors these days?
I just moved into my own house over the summer. One neighbor came over to introduce herself and we made plans to have them over for dinner. It never happened. Another neighbor saw that my kids were having difficulty getting our dog back in the house and she screamed at them and then called the police. When we went over to talk with her, she shut the door and called from a window that we...
Answer to:
Should you stay faithful 2 someone if you broke up with them and still love them and hope it will work out in the future
That would depend on your own feelings about the subject. If you got back together, would the guilt eat away at you? Would you know that it would hurt her very badly if she found out? I think that if your answers to both questions are "yes", then you should probably wait a bit longer until you have a better idea about your future together as a couple.

Why is it that many people on welfare are overweight? Is it because they do not work or because they eat so well?
While my family is not on welfare, we are on a rather fixed income. My husband and I are both overweight. It is frustrating for me when I go to the grocery store and the only snacks I can afford are things like generic cheez-its, chips, and popcorn. I would love to be able to afford chex mix, fruits, raw vegetables, yogurts, string cheese, whole wheat crackers, etc. I'm not stupid. I...

Well, I think that you sit down with your son and talk to him about why pornography is inappropriate viewing material while living under his parent's roof. Additionally, is this young boy watching adults having sex with children or watching other children his own age engaged in these acts? I lost my virginity at age 12 and it still surprises me to think of my own 14 year old daughter...

Well, I am a stay-at-home mom right now, so I would have to be doing a pretty poor job to get fired. But when I was working, my husband and I always lived check to check and just prayed that our jobs were secure enough. Funny though, when we decided to put all of my earnings aside for a few months before I left my job to see how we would fare, we did fine. We just quit eating out, renting...

My spouse yells and screams and degrade me by calling his family and going outside talking on the phone and in front of the kids when i confront him about anything having thoughts of leaving him
How often are you talking with him about thoughts of leaving him? In my opinion, divorce really shouldn't be an option, and it sounds as though you are making it a threat every time you get upset. I am not saying that his behavior is acceptable at all, but if really feel that the relationship is abusive enough that you may need to leave, then do it. I lived in my car and gave my...

You need to make a decision as to your role in this friendship. Are you going to sit by and do nothing, enabling her to stay in this relationship? Are you going to stop talking with her completely to get your point across that you disapprove? Having lost everything I had in my life, including my 2 year old daughter, to a domestically violent partner, I would suggest neither of these avenues....

I work with children 12-24 months as a preschool teacher. These kids can wash their own hands, put on their coats, brush teeth, use sign language, assist in pouring a drink, and serve themselves from a bowl with a spoon. If you offer them more opportunities, they can show you the world.

Honestly, I used to. However, it is becoming such a trend that grandmothers get them and vegetarians get them and bikers and businessmen. I used to be tattooed, pierced, and have pink hair. Now I have tattoos and that's good enough for me. They can be beautiful and I am addicted. I understand when someone feels the need to put art on their body.

You are setting up this entire family. The only right thing to do is leave and stay away. Let the woman know that you are not good for her life and that to say more would only be hurtful. Telling the truth in this situation would do so much damage that would not be worth you simply selfishly clearing your conscience.

Age does not have a whole lot to do with having a child. As I delivered my first at the age of 16, I actually screamed, "I'm too young!!!!", at which point the Dr. said point blank, "yes you are, but it's coming anyway". Is there any one action that you would definitely, no matter what the circumstances, never consider justified?
I keep going over things that I am strongly opposed to, child murder, hunting, domestic violence. I just keep coming up with times when they would be justified. If a parent sees her child suffering intolerably and the only way out is death (more likely in poorer countries), they could be justified in killing them. If a person has to kill animals to survive, they are justified. If a woman...

It is best to take the test beginning about two days before your period is due. It is possible up to five days before, but the chances of having a correct result dramatically increase 2...

Okay, grammatically, this question sounds like you are asking for the name of the best pet. I am guessing that what you really want to know is the best name for a pet. I have a cat named "Buffy". I really like it. My dog is named "Moe" because it is short for moron.

Interstingly enough, I NEVER lock my doors. However, I am anal about locking my car as my CD's were stolen out of my visor once. Can't lose my CD's, ya know. But go ahead, steal my kids! Nobody ever said I was rational.

I have been through this and it sounds like you are at the beginning and are feeling desperate. You think that if you could just say one more thing or get him to look you in your eyes, he will remember that he loves you and take you back. That is probably why he is avoiding you. This pain sucks, but you need to keep going and let him go. You will find someone that loves you in return and...

Answer to:
If you found someone's diary, would you be tempted to read it?
Oh yeah. That sounds really interesting. We all love those books and movies that are portrayed as a person's private thoughts. It would be really neat to find a person's diary and know that it wasn't fiction. Sounds silly now, but as a teenager, I always dreamed that my diary would be found someday and be published. OOOH, I just thought of a new question. Thanks!!

Answer to:
What is the psychology behind cheating?
Well, based on evolutionary psychology, men cheat because they feel the need to spread their seed. Being tied down to just one woman can be emasculating and they feel the need to be with several partners. Women are only able to be impregnanted by one man at a time, so it is not as profitable for them to cheat. Additionally, as we get married later and later in life, more individuals will...

I am 4 weeks pregnant. I think that i may have morning sickness already. but i'm only sick at night after like 5pm. is that normal? is it morning sickness?
I believe morning sickness came in because many women get sick after having not eaten for long periods and this would be very common in the mornings. However, it can hit any time of day and can be triggered just by smells. A co-worker gets sick when she smells formula. I couldn't handle any perfumes. Eat small snacks throughout the day and try to rest when your body tells you to rest....

Is it okay for a 16 year old to go out with an 15yr old yes or no explain your answer
Absolutely. Those are very similar ages and they would have a lot in common. As far as sex goes, I am unsure of the law these days, but I do know what my mother was told when she tried to press charges against my boyfriend. She was told that as long as the minors are within two years of each other and BOTH underage, most judges would not convict of statuatory rape. If you are over 18 and...

I will rate every answer that attempts to answer my question. If it is opinion based, and you simply give me a yes or no, then it shows me you were simply after a rating and the answer wasn't really helpful. If you take time to even write out one complete sentence, I will rate you.

I am running out of ideas to do together with my 26 yr old daughter. (other than swimming, going to gym, watching movies, cooking, shopping). She is single and recently graduated from a professional school.
How about scrapbooking together? You could go through old pictures and put them in a book together. There are some fun classes out there and you could go together. Try picking a new club once a week and just going dancing or trying a new restaurant. My husband and I used to pick a new place every Saturday no matter what we had heard about it. We discovered some great eateries.

As a teenager, I looked on Him as something of an angry Father. I was to be punished and unworthy of His love. I had had an abortion and was told that by doing that I had sentenced both myself and my unborn child to eternal punishment.

What virtue would you give to all human beings?
I would give to all humans the ability to have respect. That could be either for themselves or for each other. I know it sounds really old fashioned and somewhat hokey, but imagine if all people really did live by the golden rule:
"Treat others how you want to be treated".

If you could change your name to anything you wanted, what would it be?
Okay, my real name is Sumer and no I did not just misspell that. My mother did. I HATE that name, especially as it is really Sumer Joy. I am a product of the 70's and I am not girly nor peace loving. I have gone by the name of Frank since junior high and really prefer that name. My hubby didn't even know I was "Sumer" until we had been dating nearly a month.

If one disagrees with his/her spouse on what to name their baby, what's the best way to compromise and should grand parents also contribute with their suggestions?
My husband and I had a pad of paper and we would write down all of our name choices. We finally narrowed it down to two combinations and we just couldn't agree. We talked it over with friends and family and still couldn't find the best fit. However, as her birth neared, we realized that we both loved the same name. If you still can't find a compromise, try using two middle...

Ladies, do you consider the word 'bitch' an insult or an honor?
One of the things that I hate the most is when I am asking my husband to do something or complaining and he tells me to stop bitching. That is so disrespectful. It really ticks me off. It makes me feel so unvalidated and makes me want to rip my hair out. I am talking with him about something that bothers me and he should be respectful.

Answer to:
Tie-dye or flannel, why?
Hey, I wore both as a teenager. I was a stoner hippie and often wore multiple flannels. The dress code for us was ripped jeans, tye-dye shirt, open flannel shirt, flannel around the waist, and if you must, you could tie an additional piece of flannel around a pant leg. However, since high school, I have yet to be caught in either.

Why do people take bowel movements in public restrooms and not flush, even when the toilet functions properly?
Um...that's just gross. This is probably just a routine habit for them and I would guess that they are inconsiderate and lazy at home as well. Or it could be that they simply stood up, zipped their fly and walked out, forgetting to flush. This could be the case if there are lines and they are trying to rush. Who knows?

That is a difficult question to answer. I have joked with my husband about our son being gay (not to him of course). That being said, I wonder how I would really feel if he came out of the closet to us. Homosexuals face such adversity...

What instruction did your mother tell you to do over and over and over again in your chilhood?
ALWAYS leave it in better condition than when you found it. If you shower, don't just clean up the water you spilled, but wipe down the sink as well. If you use dishes, wash a whole sinkful. If you borrow a car with 1/4 tank of gas, return it full and washed. I still live by this rule and I still teach it to my kids.

Why do some mothers mistreat their children? I mean, who knows? My mother mistreated my stepsister because she thought she was a spoiled brat. (She was.) Whether justified or not, why does any person mistreat a child? This is a very loaded question.

Do you think it is right to force a child to sit there and finish everything on their plate?
A better approach would be to have your children serve themselves. I teach 1-2 year olds and they CAN serve themselves. They have control over what and how much they eat. The only rule I have with my own children is no 3rds on anything unless they sample some of everything on their plate. By 3rds, I mean, about 1/4 C per serving.

There are several unsafe foods for infants. Peanut butter is potentially unsafe as it can stick to their palate or pharnyx. However, when spread thinly on a cracker it is very safe. Honey is a big No-No as it is the only food linked to infant botulism. Never give a baby less than a year old honey. Meat is okay as long as it is pureed or thinly sliced, such as hot dogs. I have told friends this in the past...If you feel that you absolutely cannot get past a cheating incident and don't believe that you will fully trust the person, it may be best to just walk away. I do not think that most couples go into a marriage believing that they will become divorced. However, I do feel that divorce is rushed into just as frequently as is marriage. Perhaps, if couples understood that their divorce could not be granted until 5 years as passed, more of these couples might be more willing to examine their problems and move past them. He probably has no idea if he has precum or not, to be honest with you. About 1-2 weeks after the unproctected sex, I've been getting cramps and gas, I've been peeing like mad, stuffy nose, fatigue...I know these are all signs of pregnancy but I'm probably worrying. Is it possible to get symptoms this early on?
Well, about 2 weeks after your period, you will ovulate. Then, about 2 weeks after that, your period will be due again, making you one month pregnant if you had unprotected sex during ovulation. This is the normal time for a woman to begin experiencing symptoms. While you think you would only be 2 weeks pregnant, your due date is calculated from the last period, which is generally about 2...

They were playing and he said he wanted to be the baby and she got very mad and started to pout. He tried to talk to her and she wouldn't even look up at him. Finally, she said, very defiantly; "Fine, you're the baby. Now get out of my face!!...

When they NEED them. So far, I have yet to think of a time when my daughter would NEED one. I don't have a cell phone because calling my family to see what to pick up at Taco Bell does not constitute me needing one.

If you buy any car, then what kind of car would you buy?
Since I was a little girl I have wanted a 68' Camaro, bright orange so that when I go down the streets, everyone will notice. Then, in high school, my boyfriend had an old Ford Bronco and that got me pretty excited. So now I would love a 65' Maroon colored Bronco.

I have been exclusively breasrtfeeding and taking a breastfeeding safe pill for 4 months now. However I have not had a period in 2 1/2 months. Lately I have become extremly hungry and exhausted. I do sleep through the night. Could I be pregnant?
It could be that as your child gets older and is eating more, your body is simply requiring more energy to keep up with your baby's demand. It could also be that you are pregnant or any other number of issues. I would take a home pregnancy test and consult a Dr. if you are still concerned.

How much did your wedding cost?
Ours was $200. We got married in a little chapel near our town. We were allowed 10 guests and it was kind of crappy. But I got to wear a dress and we had a small ceremony. I didn't see the point in paying for a huge wedding, but I did want a small celebration where I got a chance to dress up.

Has anyone read any Dean Koontz novels?
His was the first real novel that I read. I feel in love and then had to start alternating between him and King as they both tend to tell the same story over and over. Peter Straub is another great writer in that genre. If interested in Koontz, however, may I recommend "The Face". It is an intriguing tale and very well written, much better than anything else of his I have ever read.

What is your opinion on open marriages?
I see my own marriage as a demonstration of my commitment to my partner and I believe him to feel the same way. It is work and it can be fun sometimes. However, that is MY marriage. Traditionally, marriage was viewed as more of a business investment and I know that there are many out there that...

I would make him more willing to see another person's point of view. He is very close minded and I am afraid that it is this view on life that has shut many metaphorical doors for him as well as for our family. It also makes reasoning or debating with him very difficult.

Can you say no to children? How can you punish children without being on the naughty parent list? I believe in spanking my children, but only a couple times on the butt, and not in anger. I have tried every other form of discipline and it doesn't work.
You can say no, but be sure to give an explanation and be sure that it really means something. I have tried to think "Do I really need to stop them, or is there any harm? before telling my children "No". So yeah, I let them jump on their beds. That's fun for kids and it is highly unlikely that they really will fall and break their necks. No, I don't let them have...

Would you ever allow your child to drink while underage if you were supervising?
I have never seen the reason for this. I have also heard of parents that allow their teens to have bf/gf sleep over because they would rather they have sex at home than in a car or hotel. My belief is that the harder I had to try to do something, the harder it was for me to actually do it. Define intimacy in your own words.
Intimacy for me is when my husband and I can just be together without talking, and be completely at peace. Sometimes, when we lay in bed, we just lie there staring at each other and not saying a word and I might start to cry and he will pull me into his chest. (I am having a rough time right now). He doesn't have to say a word and neither do I. We just need to be together for that...

What is the term for a tree that loses its leaves in winter?
If you can remember the two types of trees, it is really quite simple to remember which is which. A tree that will lose its leaves just one season is deciduous, but a tree that sheds them all year long, would be an evergreen. I always remembered this by saying that an evergreen is green every day and a deciduous "decides" when to lose its leaves.

Hon, no man or boy could really respect or love a girl that he thought was slutty. If he is so easy to give away these words, he will also be quick to tell his friends everything that you two do together. Please do not become his fool.

What was/is the hardest course that you have taken in high school or college?
I was never fantastic in science but wanted the BS (rather than BA) so I needed the extra courses. My advisor suggested Anat 255, saying that Genetics would be too difficult. Well, as it turns out the Anat class she steered me to was the second semester of some pre-med anatomy course. I squeaked through with a B- (worst grade I got in college). Arrgggghhh, was I pissed.

Not really. I got slammed on one of my first questions and felt very awkward. I backed off and tried asking more neutral questions. I get more answers now and less negative ratings, but it is frustrating that it seems that only the superbaggers get a lot of ratings and other answers are ignored. But again, it could just be that I am boring. :)

Why is it that when I'm being myself I'm insulted time and time again? Is myself bad? Should I stop being myself?
Ya know, I find the same to be true. I discovered that myself is hypocritical, judging, confused, vengeful, lonely, lacking in confidence, and has a serious superiority complex. So I tone it down a bit and try to just be myself around true friends and my family. Others don't need to be subjected to all that is me. Why do people give bad ratings but leave no comments?
I will usually only give a bad rating if the answer is just rude (What is wrong with you?) Or useless (A question asking what you would do if you got pregnant and someone saying "I would donate the baby to science because I am a guy") I see no point to leave a comment because anything I would say would not be constructive as there is not really anything to be improved upon.

Who gets to keep the ring after an engagement has been broken?
He certainly has the right to ask for it back. However, depending on the situation, I woudl not find fault with a woman for wanting to keep it, even if solely for financial gain. For example, if he cheated and then asks for the ring back, I would keep it. A friend of mine had her b/f ask for the ring back because he said it belonged to his wife (they were separated) and he wanted to propse...

Okay, here goes. In my junior year of HS, I had an allergic reaction to rectal suppositories. It started in the middle of the night when my tongue would not stay in my mouth. I am really disappointed in two-faced people. It it is really hurtful to discover that a friend has been going back and forth gossiping with two or more people. Make a project for their parents. You can get paper plates and string and have them make pictures to hang on the wall.
Going on a treasure hunt is fun, too. Hide things around the house and they have to find them; toilet paper, a can of carrots, a blue pen, etc.
Sensory activities are great. Like mixing cornstarch and water and playing with the texture.

I do believe that what a parent needs to do is establish positive roles for their child. There have been MANY men over the years that have paid and raised children that were not theirs. A woman does not need to be a "whore" to have made a mistake. Things happen. My 18 month old won't stop biting her sister. She does it because she is jealous of her sister and thinks it is funny that her older sister is scared of her. I have tried everything I can think of. Is there anything else I should try?
Try having the biter care for the wounds she has left such as placing an ice back over the bite or kissing it better. Really seeing the pain you have caused a loved one can help a lot. However, at 18 months old, she is more likely just acting out her aggression and this is VERY normal. 1-2 yo's bite often and the most loving child can become a biter when frustrated. Lots of great advice about having her help clean it up...but you may need to try the hand over hand approach in which you literally put your hand over hers and guide her through the motion of cleaning. I say this because I don't know many kids that will just voluntarily clean this up the first few times.

My son is 19 months old and he climbs on everything. i mean everything. how do i stop him?
Use positive redirection. Provide suitable things to climb on, even a stepstool pushed up to a wall that he can use with supervision. Example: The couch is not for climbing. Let's go find the stairs. This helps them learn to make positive choices on their own rather than you simply telling them "No". Positive guidance can go a long way toward fostering independence.

I always swore that I would never do it, all the feminist hype, you know? But when I met my husband, I couldn't wait to become more a part of his life and his family and really unify us as much as we could. Oh to be a honeymooner again. LOL

Answer to:
What color eyes do you find most attractive?
It completely depends. I love green eyes when they have pale skin and dark hair. Brown eyes are best if they are big and twinkly. Blue eyes are a bit of a bore unless they are really bright or have some other eccentricity.

Answer to:
Hot or cold?
I really prefer to be cold. My thermostat is set at 62 always. When I am cold, I can get very cozy under a blanket or a snuggly sweater. In fact, on warm days, I will put my pillowcase in the fridge for the day so it is nice and chilly when I go to bed.
Answer to:
In society why is it easier to look at two lesbians than two gay men?
I think that our stereotypical views of homosexuals contribute to this in many ways. Gay men are seen as feminine, eccentric, lustful. etc. Lesbians may be seen as more masculine, opinionated, rough around the edges. There are several tomboys in our childhoods, but not as many openly feminine young boys. This is not my own views, just some things that I have witnessed.

What's the sweetest thing a female ever said to you?
My boss said to me, "Do you know that I just really appreciate you?" She said this as I left for the day. It was such a random comment and so honest. I really liked it, especially since I had only been there less than a month.

Answer to:
Are you a hard worker or a slacker?
I am a hard worker to a fault, and have difficulty not judging others that aren't. I worked 50 hours a week, volunteered 10, and maintained a 3.6 GPA while taking 20 credits for my BS, and raised 3 kids (one of which was still nursing). I get really frustrated when college aged friends of mine complain about being broke, 12-15 credits, but they can't work more because that is just...

If someone rates you down for trying to help him/her solve a problem, would you continue to try to help that person?
How do you know is is down rating you? I frequently down rate or up rate answers to questions I am just checking out. I just started here, so I don't really know how this all works? Isn't rating anonymous?
Answer to:
When you find out your love has been lying and you have absolute proof do you cut them off completely or let them try to explain the lie with more lies?
It depends on the lie. Has he been hiding money because I spend too much and he wanted to protect our future. Did he get fired and was ashamed? Has he been meeting a 17 year old girl on the sly? I would need absolute discloure and a full explanation as to why the lying occurred. I know I can be a really difficult person to come clean to, at times. This is a very open ended question, but a...

I met a guy who is mutually attracted, but says he just wants to be friends. Our kisses were amazing, but he got rid of my number because he was scared. Then he came around to visit me again. What does he really want?
Okay, I could be totally off base on this one, but here are my thoughts. He really likes someone else, but they don't like him and he is boosting his self confidence by spending time with you. You are comfortable and welcoming. He is probably not "scared", but more, just not THAT into you. I would let this one go. I'm not saying he's a bad guy, just not the one for...

Answer to:
How do you feel about public display of affection?
It really depends on the situation. I make out with my husband at the bar, but not in line at the movies or a restaurant. There, hand holding or quick pecks are good. I don't mind couples holding hands but the whole hand in the pocket thing drives me nuts.

Answer to:
Is the attraction you first had with your mate still as strong as it was when you met?
When he wants to, my husband can turn me to jello. I know I am always proud of him when we go out together. However, my respect for him has changed a lot over the years. In some ways, very good. In others, I am so disappointed.

If i love my b/f with all my heart but i cheated on him with out him knowing should i tell him.
This actually happened to me many years ago. I cheated because I had horrible self esteem and thought that's what I had to do to get people to like me. A "friend" (now used so lightly) hubg out all of the time and helped me out around the house. Then he kept flirting, and eventually I gave in so that I wouldn't feel guilty. Very bad time in my life. I never told...
Answer to:
When people say something angrily during an argument, is it likely to represent true thoughts or feelings even though later they say they 'didn't mean it'?
When I fight with my husband, I may start thinking of everything I hate about him or what I have been brooding about lately. For instance, he got me crappy Christmas gifts and days later, when he called me selfish, I let him have it. It really hurt him and that was the reason I hadn't said anything before. I felt awful and it was difficult to take back all of the (admittedly selfish)...

What is your greatest Mother-in-Law story?
My husband calls my mother every New Year to tell her how hot she is. The 1st tiem was an accident as he got a hold of my cell phone when drunk. Now it is tradition. This year, again drunk, he called and told her "You're turning 50 now. Be glad I am still calling. Worry when I stop". She says to make him stop, but I know she loves it. That is my mom in the pic

Answer to:
Parents, how much would you be willing to pay for a 14-yo to babysit your child/ren?
I would pay about $3/hour or $5 for 2. I would also limit the time to 2-3 hours and be sure to stay close by. A 14 yo can be very responsible, but may panic in an emergency or may get bored quickly. Try them out a few times and see how it goes before increasing the time. I usually get a 16 yo.
Answer to:
Would you stay with someone who tells everyone else that you're worthless, but who is nice to your face?
This person wants something from you and is afraid to break up. It may be money, a fear of loneliness or failure. It may be that you drive a really nice car. You need to get out and let this person deal with their issues. I would have a very hard time being intimate with a person I knew did not care about me.

It is possible that you are pregnant, but have miscarried and the baby has yet to be expelled. It is also possible that you are a carrying a healthy baby and are very lucky in regards to symptoms. It is not that rare to have some light bleeding, even all the way through a pregnancy. A false pregnancy test is very rare and can occur only if your body detects the HCG hormone. You may have the...
