My boyfriend calls me names like bitch, slut, whore, ugly, fat, skank, smelly, tramp, etc. But he says that he is just joking and he doesnt mean it.Well I dont take it as a joke, and I take very seriously.Do you think that Im overreacting?Would you take it as joke?
If it was only occasional and in a joking manner and did not bother you, then it could be taken as a joke. If it is frequent and you have told him it bothers you but he won't quit, then you are not overreacting. If he does not respect you enough to stop when it bothers you then it should not be taken as a joke.

Do you like a hanging ending, or one clearly defined?
I hate hanging endings. I feel like there should be something else. I want to know what happens next! If the book is part of a series and the story will be continued in the next book that is one thing, but if it is just a single book, I want a clearly defined ending.
Answer to:
Would you read a book twice even though you already know what happens?
Yes. I have read several books more than one time. I find that I usually notice something the second time that I had either forgotten or hadn't noticed the first time I read it.

Okay to all the young adults out there. I've written a book and its aimed at the ages 16 to say 24.. but what i want to know it, what do you as an audience like to read about? what interests you?
I tend to enjoy things that are romantic comedy, mystery, or suspense the most. I will read just about anything though. I have found that any book I pick up and read I will probably enjoy, whereas anything that was assigned for school I usually hated. It always killed the books for me when the teacher made us pick them apart and over-analyze everything. I enjoy just about anything as long...

The pictures I have seen of Germany make me want to someday visit there. I like historic architecture and other historic things. Drive thru fast food restaurants: do you ever inspect your food order, before leaving a drive-up window? or, do you trust that your order is correct, but discover nothing is right, once you return home? would you go back or just accept it and carry on?
I almost always check the bag before I drive away. I make sure that there are the right number of items in the bag. Sometimes I will accept an order that I know is wrong if there are more items than there should be but the items I did order are there or if they give me something I still like that is worth at least as much as the item I ordered and paid for.

The hardest thing I have ever managed to pick up and eat with chopsticks is Jello.

Is it weird to remember the date you lost your virginity on?
No, since for a lot of people it is their wedding night it is quite normal.
Answer to:
I'm a Christian and was raised believing sex before marriage is a sin. But what if I want it to happen now? Should I put my religious beliefs above what I want?
If you decide to have sex before you get married, that is your choice. No one can make it for you. As you make this decision, be sure to consider if you might regret it later. If your values are very important to you, you might regret having sex before you are married, which would make it worth your while to wait until you do get married.
Answer to:
Is virginity still important today?
It is important to some people, but not to others. Some people place importance on losing their virginity, while some place importance on keeping it unitl they get married. Others do not care about losing or keeping it. I still think it is something that should be valued and kept until you are married.
Answer to:
I'm 15. In my school almost all girls my age have lost their virginity. Everyone thinks because I'm with an older guy I will. But what they don't know is hes a virgin too, and we are just waiting. How long should we wait?
You should wait until you are both ready. How long you wait should not be determined by what other people are doing. You should do whatever feels right to you. In my opinion, 15 is too young to be considering having sex anyway.

Not unless there are a lot of things misspelled and the question is hard to read. I understand that sometimes people will make mistakes when typing and that is fine, but I hate it when people like you intentionally misspell things or use terrible grammar. Misspelled words do not make me not answer a question. They make me want to tell the person who wrote the question how dumb they are...

All you really NEED to learn is enough to be able to balance your checkbook, make sure you have enough money for what you are trying to buy, and any other math that you will actually use in life.

Yes. I love the Harry Potter books. I do wish they came out more often though. The first ones came out when I was in sixth grade and I am now a sophomore in college and still reading them.

What's to be forgiven? I agree with you that Valentine's Day is depressing. What do you think about a law making spanking a child illegal?
I think spanking can be an effective way to get a child's attention and let them know that what they did was wrong, but I also think that too many parents take spanking too far and are too close to abuse with it.

Answer to:
When you were a kid (living at home) did you get spanked or otherwise physically "punished" (including beaten) when your parents thought you did wrong? Do you think those spankings/beatings/punishments really made you a better adult?
Yes. I got hit with a leather belt. Usually the things I got hit for were things my sister actually did. My sister rarely ever got hit for anything even though she was more badly bahaved than I was. She could kick me and pull my hair, but if I ever fought back in the slightest I would get hit with a belt. I know that it did not make me a better adult, it just made me hate my father.

I would let my kids jump in puddles unless they were dressed up to go somewhere. You can always wash their clothes and give them a bath. Jumping in puddles is fun and my parents always fussed at me for doing it when I was little. I still like to do it though.

Do you think the sexual revolution was for the better or worse?
Worse. I still believe in waiting until you are married before you have sex, especially with all of the STD's that are floating around today. The best way to avoid STD's is to only have one partner who has also not had other partners. That, along with religious reasons, is why I believe people should practice abstinance until they are married.

If you got pregnant (guys, just play along) before you were ready, what would you do?
I do not believe people should have a choice to keep the baby or get an abortion. They made the choice to have sex and should therefore be ready to accept any consequences that come of it. If you are not ready to have a child you should not be having sex. As Valparaiso commented, the only choice you shold have is the choice to keep your pants up.

I have taken several online IQ tests and they all said my IQ was between 139 and 147. It does make me happy to know that it is well above average, but I also realize that how well you do on a test does not really tell how intelligent you actually are. Do you think it's a good idea for children to learn foreign languages in Elementary School instead of High School?
Yes. Younger children are supposed to be able to learn foreign languages more easily than adults. At my elementary school we did learn Spanish, but we just learned basic vocabulary such as colors and clothing. I do think they should also have foreign languages in high school though.

Do you think education should be free?
Yes. Education should be free. Everyone should have the right to a good education, regardless of how much money they have. Also, teachers deserve to be paid much more than they are, especially the ones in primary education since most of the students don't behave or want to be there. At least in college the students behave better since they have to pay to be there.

You are never too old to learn. If it is something you want to do, go for it. I am 18 years old and a college sophomore. My lab partner in one of my classes is 24 years old and he doesn't seem any different than anyone my own age. I actually like him better as a lab partner because he is more responsible than most of the other students. If you want to go to school and have the time...

What's the most accurate way to estimate my chances of getting in to a particular college or university?
Most colleges provide statistics about their average SAT score of accepted students and what percent of their students were within what percent of the top of their graduating class. If you compare your class rank and SAT scores to these, you can probably get a reasonable idea of how you will compare to other students. Also, extracurricular activities will help your chances of being accepted.

When will the US become a bilingual society?
It is basically a bilingual society already because of the number of Spanish speaking immigrants. It is just not officially recognized by the government. Eventually when there are more Spanish speaking immigrants, people will be forced to become bilingual so that they can communicate since many immigrants are not learning to speak English before they come to the US.

When you are young, three years difference in age seems like a much larger difference than it really is. As long as you like each other I don't think that age difference is large enough to matter. I am 18 years old and in college. Last year, when I was a senior I had a crush on a guy who was a freshman. One of my friends who was a senior also had a crush on a freshman. It's not...

I know that I will still be a virgin when I get married and I would like my husband to also be a virgin, but I know that is not very likely in today's society. Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

John Ritter. I love Three's Comapny and 8 Simple Rules. Now whenever I watch those shows and I see him, it makes me sad when I realize that he is dead and will never make another show. Although it may not be considered cool to tell the teacher, it is not fair for you to do all of the work and them earn the same grade as you. You should definately tell your teacher, because they can either make the others share your work or adjust their grades to reflect their participation in the project. I am in college and I still have that problem with my lab group in my engineering class.

Elementary school was my favorite time in school. In high school, however, it depended on the subject, the teacher, and the people in the class.
Answer to:
Why do people hate english as the subject in school? I know i do but why?
Since we speak English every day, we don't feel it is necessary to learn the parts of speech and all of the grammar teachers expect us to learn. I figure that as long as we can use English correctly, there is no reason to be able to identify a gerund, or a past participle, etc. Also, the English language has more exceptions to rules than any other language which makes it more difficult...

Girls.. is there such thing as too much make up?
YES. I personally do not wear make up at all, but it can look nice when applied correctly and in moderation. A lot of people who wear it, however, either wear way too much or really bad colors. Basically, if someone can look at you an tell you are wearing makeup you are probably wearing too much.

No. Depending on their job, they may not be able to afford a ring. If you love the person enough to marry them you should not care about a ring. In most cases yes, but sometimes it would be okay to shower every other day. If you live somewhere where it is hot or you have sweated at all that day you should take a shower. Basically the only way it would be acceptible to not shower every day would be if you spent all day behind a desk and did absolutely no physical activity.

If it means M over 10 it would be a .1 molar solution, which means there are .1 moles of the compound per liter of water.

It depends on the size of the ice and the temperature of the water. A larger piece of ice would take longer to melt than a smaller one. The warmer the water is the faster the ice will melt. For the ice to melt the water has to be warmer than 0 degrees Celsius.
Answer to:
Does water freeze faster if salt is added in?
Adding salt to water lowers its freezing point. Water will not freeze faster if salt is added to it because the salt will allow the water to become super-cooled(lower than water's freezing temperature) which means the solution would have to be cooled farther before it would freeze.

He makes me sad. It is really depressing to think that someone who seems to be as stupid as George W. Bush was ever elected by the American public (especially twice). Quizno's or Subway? which is your favorite sandwich shop?
I go to Subway more often because it is cheaper and more convenient for me, but the few times I have had Quizno's it was really good. I would have to say Quizno's is better even though it costs too much to be able to go often.

Why do some woman wear thongs??? Isn't it uncomfortable??? Is it that important to avoind panty lines?
I don't see the point in wearing thongs. Their only purpose is to go up your butt and keep you from having panty lines. If you are that concerned about panty lines, you might as well not wear underwear at all. In my opinion, if your pants or skirt are tight enough that your underwear can be seen through them, you need a larger size of clothing anyway.

A denomination is a division of Christianity, such as Lutheran, Presbyterian, Baptist, Catholic, etc. The doctrines and beliefs of all denominational churches vary some, but are usually fairly constant throughout each denomination. Why is it that when a girl cheats on a guy she's a whore and noone should be with her, but when a guy cheats on a girl he's a hero?
There are double standards created by stupid guys. A guy who cheats is not a hero. He is a jack a**. But it isn't fair that girls get labeled as whores and sluts if they do the same thing.

Would you date someone "ugly" or do looks really matter?(no missing teeth or anything)normal but "ugly"
It depends more on their personality than their looks. As long as they are nice and fun to be around, I would date them. Besides, I am not the best looking person in the world and I can't be too picky unless I want to take a chance on spending my life alone :)

My family is poor and I don't know if I'll be able to go to a college unless I get a lot of scholarships. Are there on-line places with forms?
Fastweb is a great online database of scholarships. It has links to the pages of the people who are offering the scholarship, as well as to the applications for the scholarships. Fastweb automatically sorts through the scholarships based on the information you provide and only shows you scholarships that you qualify for. You can also sort the results based on when the applications are due or...

Answer to:
How hard is it to earn scholarships?
It depends on how good your grades and SAT scores are. It also depends on your writing ability and the type of scholarship you are applying for. If you are applying for a local scholarship your chances are much better than if your are applying for a scholarship that is open to the whole country. If you can find a lot of local scholarships to apply for it is pretty easy to get scholarships....
Answer to:
Do state schools offer reduced tuition for students with good grades who are from out of state?
Yes. If you have good grades and do well on the SAT, a lot of colleges will waive the out-of-state fee. I am not sure exactly how good your grades and SAT scores have to be, but my out-of-state fee was waived (I graduated in the top 2% of my high school class and made a 1410 on the combined math and verbal portions of the SAT). That's the only way I can afford to go to a school outside...
Answer to:
There's a 3% chance that I'm eligible for a 2% chance at a full scholarship to college. Is it worth writing 1000 words for that?
It is always worth taking the time to apply for a scholarship, because if you don't, your chances of getting it are zero. If you fill out the application, there is always a chance that you will get the scholarship, and every little bit of money you can win to help pay for college helps a lot. College is REALLY expensive! I applied for at least 30 scholarships last year and recieved...

Is the tuba an easy instrument to play? If so, how long does it take to be good enough for band?
No...well actually, I only tried to play it twice. I played clarinet, bass clarinet, contrabass clarinet, and tenor sax. I never really learned to play any brass instruments even though I have tried tuba, trombone, and trumpet at various times. Brass instruments always seemed a lot harder to me than woodwinds, but I guess it depends on what you get used to.

I play the clarinet, bass clarinet, contrabass clarinet, and the tenor sax. When I learned the tenor sax, I had already learned to play the clarinet and the bass clarinet. It was really not hard to learn at all, but I guess that also depends on what you already know how to play and...
