In President Obama's inaugural address, he made it a point to be inclusive of non-believers. What do you think of that? Will it help society be more accepting of atheism? I was tapping my foot as he read off the different faiths, quite unhappily - wondering if he'd mention those who did not have faith. And he did. I was very happy that he mentioned non-beleivers. Why do atheists buried their dead? And isn't it hypocritical to do so since burial is the earliest detectable form of religious practice? People first burried their dead so as not to attract predators and other such animals. It was later - how much later I don't know - that people began to bury the dead with any sort of relics, or with any idea of religious after-life in mind.

I've just found out that I'm to be shipped off to some Christian summer camp for a week this summer: Do you think their claims to be "Respectful" can be trusted, or should I (a young atheist) expect a week of agonizingly heavy preaching? It depends on the camp. Really, you have two things before you. If you get off lucky, it's a very lax camp where you can do most anything - I have a friend, a very strong Athiest, who loves going to a Jesus Camp since all they do is screw around and do, well... unchristian things. Here's a short list in Chronolgical Order - George Washington, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson. None of the three were Christian - in fact, most of the notable Founding Fathers were Deists and not Christian. About 80-90% of all of it is sung, and if not that, then there's sort of a sing-talk feeling. And yes, this is a musical, but it really is very, very dark - and this particular version is, to put it milidly, quite bloody. But the movie is very, very good and I recomen it very, very highly.

Why are alot of scientists trying to disprove the paranormal, rather than simply accepting it for what is it, and searching for explanations for why paranormal phenomenon occur?
