Is it cheating if your husband gave his cell phone number to a female co-worker,and puts a fake name under her number, and doesnt have any plans on telling his wife about her?
It's certainly dishonest and a betrayal, and if it isn't cheating, it's getting set-up for cheating.

Do you think child molesters deserve the death penalty?
No, I worked with adolescent sex offenders for nearly a decade. I only met one who we couldn't be certain hadn't been a victim of a sexual predator himself. These are really sad people, really screwed up. When you want to put to death the son of a bitch who screwed your boy, realize that the chances are great that your own son will also be put to death down the road.

Why are the inner leaves of my hibiscus plants turning yellow? I live in central MS and the weather has been warmer than normal. The plants are in individual containers.
Typically hibiscus grow in the rain forest, their soil is NEVER dry. Probably the plants were allowed to dry out at some point. Those that are dying will fall off, they can't be saved, but keep the plant wet from now on and it should be fine.

Depends on the song:
Here comes the Bride is - dum, dum, da, dum

I'd use hum, hum, hum, hum, hum, hum, hum for When you wish upon a star (circa Jimminey circket)

If your partner ever cheated on you would you have "revenge sex" with someone else to hurt them back?
No because that wouldn't make them feel the same. They already don't care enough to be faithful, therefore they couldn't experience the same sense of betrayal. (Being betrayed by someone you were loyal to) You could make them mad, or jealous, but why use another uninvolved person that way.
If you decide to break up, do so, and sleep with people in the future for reasons...

I just got back together with my boyfriend and we have had some problems in the past with our relationship. How do I know he will change?
I've heard a lot of people say they've changed, but the only time I've actually known it to be true is as a result of some sort of life changing experience. Did he have one? If he did, then maybe...but don't count on even that. Odds are that the very same problems will arise again. So why did you get back? Why not find someone without those problems?

I am dating a single dad, and I have met his 4 year old son, who I think is spoiled. He treats his son like gold. I understand why he does it, but will I be treated on the same level? If we ever have children, will they always be second to his first?
I can only answer from experience, but I would guess that chances are that he will not treat you the same, rather he will expect you too to spoil and admire his son. Hard to guess about future kids

Are natural meds ok to give your pet rat if there r no chemicals? and what r the symptoms of an overdose in a rat?(tetracycline)
I lived next door to a surgeon - dog show guy for years, occasionally gave our own dogs old tetracyclene for various infections, they're about 50lb so gave about a half pill at a time. He said that was just fine and had done the same to his own. Problem would be the size of the rat compared to humans would make it tough to give appropriate dose.

Christians: If you beleve the story of Noah's Ark, didn't we all descend from Noah and his wife. Why don't we give Noah's wife more credit?
I give my Mom credit, even though I can be traced back further. I get that we all come from Adam and Eve, but according to the Bible we also all come from Noah and his wife, they would be our most recent common denominator, again, why don't we give Noah's wife a little more credit.

It is hard to occupy a 6 year old kid's mind at times. My daughter has read every book she can read and have done all the "fun" stuff in the area with her so I bought her a nintendo Wii. Was this the right tthing to do? It is interactive so I thought yes.
I don't know if it was right or wrong, but I know your statement that she has read every book she can read and has done all the fun stuff is bull. If you can afford WII you can order books (try amazon) if you don't have a library near by, and as to "fun" things, you can often do them over and over - we went swimming nearly every day in the summer. So those reasons sound...

Do you think Michael Vick should spend more than a year in prison for his association with dog fighting?
I don't know the facts, but if what I heard is true, then he shouldn't be around humans or animals again. Cruelty to animals, taking pleasure - or being completely insensitive to suffering is a big red light as far as treatment of others is concerned. Farmers routinely kill animals, but they take no pleasure in the task and attempt to do it as humanely as possible. They don't...

Answer to:
My pill of the last packet was Tuesday morning and I had sex without a condom tuesday afternoon/evening. Is it possible to miss a period altogether on the pill? Is it safe to start the next packet if I don't start bleeding by Wednesday%3
Yes, it's common to miss periods on the pill. Most pills prevent pregnancy by tricking the body into believing it's pregnant and doesn't need periods. That's one of the great things about the pill, it makes your periods lighter, less cramps and sometimes you don't get them at all. Recently they've come out with a pill that causes you to only have one of every 4...
Answer to:
What are the chances getting pregnant right after your period has ended? my friend had sex and the condom broke she thinks. she regrets do this as they have a terrible past together.
You generally ovulate exactly halfway between periods. If your cycle is 28 days from the start of one to the start of the next, then you ovulate 14 days after your last period began. Sperm can wait around a while, maybe a day or two, and eggs are viable for a couple of days. It sounds unlikely that your friend is pregnant

I like the last answer, but if it didn't work, real quick, I'd start giving small add on consequences, because at that age, it shouldn't be a choice, she should NOT be allowed to say that. It was no fun and never went away - though I was always very nice. It sucked. since you're only a GF at this point, I's say don't rock the boat. If you are to marry, he needs to point blank ask the others what the...

Have you ever bought something you thought would be cool and then when you got it wasn't?
The first album I ever bought, I was 12. Double album, had every cool song imaginable. Was telling my best friends (very cool)16 yr old brother about it, and he said, "bet it isn't the original artists. When I got home I checked and it was people imitating the artists on the radio. I don't think I ever played it again. All alone, so embarassed.

Police in Perth (Aust.) arrested a 12-year-old after a car chase. It appears the girl has been caught many times for car stealing and reckless driving. What can be done to stop such a child?
In Canada one of the tests for if I child should go into care is are they a threat to the safety of themselves or others. It would seem like this child should go into care as it sounds like the parents aren't able to provide the level of security she and the rest of us need. Oh yes, and show her the results of such accidents - but often kids think it won't happen to them.

You love your long term partner and are VERY happy together, you would love to get married but he is against the idea of marriage. Do you stay with him or find someone else who will marry you?
You didn't say why you wanted to get married and why he's opposed to it. For most of us, the vows are a statement of commitment, to your partner, in front of the world. They also impose some sanctions that make getting out a little more difficult. However, nowdays, in most places, if you live together long enough you're considered married as far as division of property and...

What hasn't he already stopped? I think the answer to that will tell you a lot. It shouldn't be that big of a deal. If he really cared about you and he knew it bothered you, he should have boxed it all up that day -and he would have, if he had a "I could take it or leave it" attitude. My gut says he's probably not for you.

You answered your own question - he isn't in pain because he feels no guilt and isn't sorry. This is probably increasing your pain, not only are you having to deal with this recent loss, but you're having to question the whole relationship and how he really felt about you. Sounds like a friends with benefits situation. I think the chances of introducing romance at this point are very slim. It's hard to have real romance without a certain kind of affection. Try skipping the "fun" and see if he still wants to spend time with you. If he does, then you probably stand a chance. Try sharing some romantic sentiment and see how he reacts -tell him how...

What is more important: working 2 jobs to give you kid the life that you want for him or working only one, making less money, but seeing your kid more
It depends on how poor you are. Kids don't care if their parents have a fancy car, but they do care if they have to go to bed hungry, or be cold because they lack a warm coat, or stand around by themselves because their friends are all riding their bikes.
Do whatever it takes to provide them with the basics, then spend time enjoying one another.

My girlfriend and I were going to go out and have dinner for her birthday, and I was planning to make it a nice night out for the two of us, which we don't get often due to the kids. Now she wants to invite her friend along. Do I have a right to be upset?
I agree with most of the other answers, but I also have to play devil's advocate. Who are you trying to please with this night out? If you're trying to please her, then find out what pleases her and do that. But try offering the girls day out and do tell your wife that you had hoped that a romantic evening would be what pleases her.

You should avoid using them as a reference. Better to come up with nearly any reason to explain a gap in employment history than to use a bad reference. If you have to explain it, explain how you know better now and would never leave another company so inconsiderately in the future. Good Luck!

What do you feel is the worst mainstream product marketing mistake made in the past 50 years?
Nestle corporation giving away free baby formula in third world countries, to new mothers. The mothers would give their babies this product that they were told was better for their babies than breast milk. then their breasts would dry up. They couldn't afford this product and couldn't provide milk on their own, many, many babies died. I believe the UN got involved, I first learned...

We found three baby bunnies in our front yard. One has died but the other two are moving around and their eyes are open. Should we nurture the two bunnies? If we already took them should we put them back in the nest?
Their Mama will not want them back and they will die. If you decide to raise them, they can easily be litter trained and actually make pretty nice pets. You can look on the internet, but it seems to me we used baby formula when we ran into the same situation with one baby bunny (unfortunately he did die, had a pretty injured leg as a cat had already got to him)

I will admit it right away, I hate being wrong too, admitting it makes me even more "right". And admitting it quickly makes less of a scene. If I'm going to be wrong, I'd rather it be quick and not memorable.

Do you think that the first name of someone will be determined by life. In other words, does a specific first name have an impact on someone's life on destiny?
Read the book Freakonomics, they do a whole chapter on just that. And yes, they did determine that your name can impact your life, and reflect your life.
As an easy example, take a name like LeShaun. Pretty much exclusively used by non-affluent blacks (they can tell stuff like this from censuses). So the name reveals something about the family he comes from. Also, the name can affect...

Were these scientists short men? Ha. ha, from my experience they could be right. When I think of the things I've seen short men do, that I suspect might be over compensation for their height, I think of things like being loud, show offey, having to top everyone else, being strong, having manly interests like sports or mechanics, none of those things are anger, so I'd bet there could...

According to the Bible, if I lived life never knowing of the Bible, what would happen after my death?
As I understand it, if you never heard, you get some kind of chance right after death. If you heard the word and rejected it, you're in trouble. In some religions, only those who've been baptised are ok, in others, only those who've heard and accepted are ok. Mormons do baptismals for the already dead. It depends on your church.

By a very long, complete, thorough apology. No excuses, or buts or justifications. Letter is good because you can really think about what you say, you can get all the way through it, she can decide when to read it and isn't being put on the spot.

While many are ignorant, not all are in the position of power that the US is in. American ignorance of other cultures is a major problem because American actions have the potential to so profoundly affect the rest of the world. Acting with enlightenment and wisdom always beats acting in ignorance.

You left out a lot of particulars, but if they can't get out and your hands are tied, then whether or not it's "enough", keep talking - it's something. Abusers like to isolate, don't let your loved one become isolated. They need a sounding board that isn't abusive, one that's supportive. It's a structure of real estate ownership. Usually involving vacation properties. Rather than own, say, a condo at a lake, one would own maybe a week at the condo on the lake. It means we all share the same innate value, that is consistent between us, regardless of the foibles of fashion or class, or the political tide, or how we look. Barely
Better to find a whole other way to phrase it. Instead of you're acting "like an ass", better to say something more specific like, "I find it annoying when you yell instead of just talking, when you're only a couple of feet away"
Usually those "like" deals are mostly poorly disguised insults and don't really help to solve a problem

A start might be the most recent edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM 5 I believe, or could be 6 by now). In there they list all the currently defined mental disorders and how to diagnose them.
Typically there is a list, say for disassociative identity disorder (formerly multiple personality disorder), they'll list a number of traits, and in order to qualify as...
Answer to:
When your pregnant does your nipples tend to itch and hurt alot?
Yes, the skin is stretching, so it hurts and tends to dry out a bit, thus the itching. That pulled flesh is tender. Also breasts aren't just blobs of flesh, they are actually organs and are changing at this time. Later, toward the end of the pregnancy, there may be a tiny bit of leaking from the nipples, this is also normal.

This is not medically approved! But, a very clean, sterilized pair of nail clippers, and watch out, that thing will bleed like there's no tomorrow. Keep clean and maybe covered till it heals. I'm speaking from experience, but I am not a trained physician, this is not medically approved!

If a girl isnt careful when she shaves her pubic hair can you get ingrown hairs? Or rashes? Or any infections? And whats the best way to prevent it, without having to wax.
Gawd yes!, a tough spot can be where the elastic of under wear rubs shaved areas between legs.
Shave in the direction of hair growth, and also if you use a bit rough cloth, terry cloth will do and use that when you wash there, it will discourage those ingrown hairs.

Depends where you live and what you're doing. Gold miners didn't bath but maybe once a year, neither did eskimos. But in modern, indoor society our noses are a little more sensitive.

You could apply the heirarchy to a society. Roads and groceries and rivers provide for it's basic physiological needs, armies, police, firefighters, medical personnelle provide the safety needs, Signs and flags and community events and culture provide for love and belonging, self esteem would come from libraries and local heros, self actualization could come from zero taxes?

Ok so what's the silliest/most ridiculous/most innocuous thing that ever scared the holy snot out of you when you were home alone? Points for good stories :)
I used to work nights and sometimes stay up during the day after I got home. I'd get a bit punchy and would startle easily. I think the most pathetic think that ever made me nearly have a heart attack was my own hair, on my own head. I turned quickly and saw it out of the corner of my eye. I sure felt stupid when I realized what it was.

What's the most offensive cartoon you've ever seen?
I saw this very old cartoon, black and white, a family was sitting down to Christmas dinner and a little black boy was standing outside looking in the window. Santa comes by and wishes the boy Merry Christmas, and then continues along, gives the boy nothing, leaves him standing there looking sadly in the window.

What is the difference between ego and self respect?
According to Freud, who coined the term, ego is the part of us that functions in the world. Id is our hedonistic urges, superego is our conscience. Think of it like the devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other. Ego is the guy in the middle.
Self respect is having an earned positive feeling about onesself.

You answered your own question, you don't think he likes you. Are you thinking that asking him will make him like you? Or would it just make you both feel akward.
I'd try to get to know him better and get some clearly positive signals first, maybe make it a goal for the next dance.

WAIT!!!! Complaining to your friend could cause problems between you (unless you have a very specific, legitimate reason why you hate her)

Instructions to make the box used to cut a child in half
Do you really need a box to cut a child in half? (I guess you would so you don't make a mess). Do you have to make it yourself? I would think that just about any box that was large enough would do.
Appliance boxes could be easily adapted for this purpose. Get one from a dishwasher or a fridge, depending on the sixe of the child. Use a cutting knife and duct tape (hey, you could...

I would take him to a Dr. to rule out any health issues, ASAP. Assuming there aren't any, I would place a limit on the mile and stick to it. Offer a variety of soft and hard alternatives, and prepare to be strong. Appetite is the best flavor. The kid will eat, you just have to be prepared to tough it out

Why would an Atheist spend so much time and energy talking about "God", when they don't believe that "God" exists in the first place?
When they talk to you about God, they are using that word to mean "the belief you have that I don't share". They don't probably mean "God", because, as you just said, they are athiest.
Who are they talking to? Is someone constantly after them to defend their position? Or are they trying to convert someone?

I don't know where you live, but I'm sure she could. Would you actually try to stop her? To what end? It's a big deal to carry a baby, takes nearly a year and some women do still die from it. You said you CAN'T have a baby? well then abortion is the only alternative.
In the "olden" days, girls used to go spend a semester with an "aunt", have the baby, give it up, and return to their old lives. But of course that involves actually having a baby and you said you "can't".

What a pain for you. Be really careful of any kind of strippers because they will tend to dissolve your tub too. I think people do find it wrong. That's certainly reflected in our laws.
One of the reasons they don't seem as horrified by it is that we tend to really dislike when the stronger pick on the weaker, and usually women are physically smaller and weaker, so we don't think it's AS awful when a woman hits a man.

Do you believe that humans are either inherently good or evil? Or is life just one big grey area, where there are no extremes and everything is up for review? I am not asking IF these characteristics exist. This is strictly an opinion question.
I heard it put this way once about child abuse, there are three kinds of abusers, those who lack (can't afford a sitter and need to work, so kids are unsupervised, or lack the skills to deal with stress, so kids are abused). for those people, filling the lack will reduce the abuse. In the regular world, those might be the people who steal.
There are those who abuse because they...

Me and my ex have been broken up for over 4 months. He has a new girlfriend (I'm constantly obsessing about them) I think about him more and more every day. I thought it would get easier it's only getting harder. When will this jealousy ect. go away?
Usually these feelings have gone away by the time you find a new love, sometimes the new love helps to push the last of those feelings out the door.
But if you're too obsessed, you maybe won't find a new love, so you have to help yourself get rid of those feelings. Remind yourself how destructive they are, that there are plenty of fish in the sea, go out and meet some, and...

I think it was called I'll Fly Away, about a white lawyer in the south, set maybe in the 50's, has black housekeeper and three kids, older boy and girl and little boy, maybe six, housekeeper has her own little girl of about the same age. drama. The most moving was the halloween episode, really made a strong point. Only on for a couple of seasons, I think it was PBS or A&E.

Where did women changing their name when they get married come from? and why?
It began with last names. In small communities, everyone had a name. But as communities grew and the pool of names didn't, it became necessary to add the last name in order to identify people. Thus Kevin, son of John, became Kevin Johnson. We also used trades to identify people, thus, Kevin the taylor, became Kevin Taylor. Then we could tell the two Kevins apart.

Sometimes being at peace involves being right. And sometimes you can be right in your head and don't have to say so out loud.
But continually accepting that you are wrong, when you aren't, to pacify a bully or an authority, can eat away at your soul and prevent you from enjoying any real peace.

My husband died almost a year ago. Since his death I have dreamed of him holding me, kissing me and making love to me. People think I am crazy when I say this. Sometimes I dream of him looking out a window, am crazy or what?
The dreams are gifts, enjoy them, but maybe they'e a private gift and it makes other people uncomfortable to be privy to something so emotionally intimate. I'm not suggesting you keep them "secret", but savor them privately. Likely they will diminish with time.

When we sprinkle salt on our food, we are only consuming a small amount. Saltwater is saturated with salt so even drinking a small amount will result in the consumption of a lot of salt. Also, when we eat salt, we usually also drink salt free beverages. If we are only drinking saltwater, there is nothing to help flush that salt out of our system.

It also discourages people from expressing controversial opinions, thereby reducing chances for everyone to learn something new or see things in a different way.

No rabis is a communicable disease. Dogs can get it from being bitten by say a rabid raccoon. That's why we innoculate dogs against it.
We hear when someone is bitten by a rabid dog because it's such a big deal, fatal, and the antidote involved many painful injections. No one wants to go through that if they don't have to, used to be they had to kill the animal to...

My father was a bastard and left when we were little. Many years and hundreds of miles later, the bastard blows his head off and ends up on life support. Hadn't seen him for 30 years (he didn't look too good with his head like that), but my sister and I were contacted as next of kin. We signed for them to transplant the organs and pull the plug. Months later got $6000 (share of...

I would bring the subject of abortions up generally, ask her opinion and then move into personal wxperiences. Gauge her reactions along the way and if it looks like it's getting too uncomfortable, you can choose to back off if you like.

Why is the statement "If God did not exist it would be necessary to invent Him" true? Are we THAT insecure with the world around us?
I think a good part has to do with man's insecurity with the worlds around him, part of it also has to do with man's insecurity with himself. Most religions explain our external world, they also usually provide a code of behavior or conduct for us to apply to ourselves.

Yes it can, sort of. Studies have found that there seems to be a correlation between how useful you are and how long you live. Do it! Circumcision reduces the spread of aids, women whose partners are uncircumcised have higher incidences of cervical cancer. Sometimes uncircumcised boys are prone to infection and circuncision reduces this (a friends son got it done at 6, that must have hurt!)
Then personally there's the look, well, I prefer circumcised.

WOMEN: Do you keep a diary? Have you been betrayed? Have you betrayed another? Man, 25, wounded and alone, recovering from loss of once in a lifetime love looking for reasons why.
I kept a diary briefly in my teens, someone read it and mocked me, so I never did it again, wish I had though.
You are only 25, Yes she (or he?) was the only love that will break your heart at 25, but really, you still have time for a once in a lifetime love at 32 and 47 and 65 and I met a couple in their 80's who were engaged and in love and thrilled and a joy to be around because...

A mistake a lot of younger women make is thinking that they are supposed to accomplish the whole deal with their mouth. Choking is not relaxing and if you're under stress like that nobody will have fun (unless he's into s&M). Use your mouth on the end and VERY WET hands for the shaft.

Answer to:
When is a child too old to be spanked?
I was 14 the last time my mother slapped my face. I slapped her back (first and only time), she never laid hand on me again. I'd suggest you never hit children, but if you aren't clever enough to think of another way, be sure to stop before getting hit back will hurt.

Answer to:
When is a child too old to be spanked?
At birth. I worked with delinquants for years, corporal punishment was not allowed. When I had my own child I figured that I had the keys, the height, the car, the money, the smarts. I could find a way to get my child to comply without having to resort to hitting
Answer to:

Answer to:
Why do people automatically assume that if you want to know more about them you want to be sexual? Why is society so paranoid? Too many talkshows? Too many whores? What? I'm confused!
I don't think that people usually think you want to get sexual if you show a non-sexual interest in them. I wonder what sorts of questions you ask. Try to avoid personal or sexual subjects until after you know a person fairly well and perhaps this misunderstand won't keep occuring

My bitch sometimes rolls on her back and makes strange sounds. Is this normal?
at our house we call it joy. She also tries to bite her own tail, on the right, then on the left, while on her back. She's pretty old and it makes everyone smile to see her enjoying herself so much. Does it on carpet and grass.
Answer to:
I adopted a new dog, and now my old dog growls and seems less happy than before. Will this pass?
The growling should pass, but they may never be close friends. Be sure the old dog retains a sense of dominance over some areas. In our case, the old dog was allowed on the bed and the new dog wasn't. The old dog also showed dominance over certain dishes and toys and we didn't make her share. And of course special 1-1 time. Oh, don't leave them alone till you're sure...
Answer to:
Is it safe to use Bag Balm on my dog's paws?
Don't do it! Paws are crusty for a reason, they're the dogs shoe leather!
Answer to:
Why is my chihuahua getting some vaginal discharge, and her nipples are getting bigger every day?
Is she pregnant? If not, could be false pregnancy, I had a cocker who had false pregnancies many times, built nests, even lactated. The biggest danger was surprisingly breast cancer, breasts that fill with milk are supposed to feed babies, apparently getting the dog fixed helps.

My dog is 14 and is going deaf. He's hard to wake him up. I woke him up by rolling him over, but then he was disoriented. What's wrong?
Our sense of balance is located in our ears, depending on what the dogs ear problems are, you could be messing with his balance when you wake him, try just gently stroking his head or back

Answer to:
My rubber tree keeps falling over even with a stake in the pot, what else can I do to keep it from falling over?
bigger pot, plant it deeper don't overwater, especially at first, some big rocks on the dirt around the plant will keep that root ball from coming up
Answer to:
My rubber tree plant is over 10 feet tall. How can I cut it back without killing the plant?
cut it just above a leaf node. Rubber plants will bleed (white sticky liquid) There is a wax you can get at gardening stores to cover the wound and stop the bleeding, I just use a plain old piece of paper towel, folded up into many layers and tied on by a strip of cloth, remove a day or two later when the bleeding has stopped.
Note, your tree will branch where it;s been cut.
Answer to:

What are some good ideas on how to get a good healthy lawn?
Of course water and fertilizer, but also people over rake. Grass clippings reduce evaporation and return nutrients to the soil. So mowing before the grass is too long and leave the clippings where they are.

Answer to:
After he shoots the albatross, the Mariner experiences both shame and guilt. What is the difference between these two emotions? Where in the poem does he experience each emotion?
Shame and guilt are both related to embarassment or humiliation, but shame can include conditions or situations where the person made no contributiuon toward the outcome. For example I could feel shame over my ugly big toe, but I wouldn't feel guilt. Guilt as a feeling is a subset of shame. (Guilt can also occur without shame as a statement of fact)

Why must everything be a struggle with set backs, and pain? Can't anyone just have things easy, just once?
Everything isn't a atruggle for everyone, everything is relative. Sounds like you're in a slump. Consider the people in Darfur, and then Donald Trump. I bet you lie somewhere in the middle. Life isn't as easy as it is for Donald, but nor is it as hard as it is in Darfur. Even in Darfur, people still want to live, life must offer somethings that aren't painful and hard....

Has anyone had any experience with changing the color of ceramic tiles? Either professionally or not. And if so, what are some good recommendations, pro or con?
You can buy paint made for the job. My Mom did a kitchen counter years ago (10?) and it still looks really good. A friend did her son's bathroom and after 5 years of two rough boys it still looked good. It's not that expensive, if you don't like it, then you can still remove tiles if you want.

My professor in school taught us that miss and mrs are degrating prefixes used for women, as it shows that women are owned by men, Mrs= Master Jones Mistress, why don't women stand up and refuse to use these Prefixes or do we just not care?
Ok, sorry I said your question was nutty. I guess I believe that those of us who chose not to degrade ourselves, don't. Some of those who still use them (my wonderful grandmother)do so because of the tradition underwhich they were raised. I think it will be a non-issue in the near future and we'll be more concerned about what happens when Ashley Jones-Smith marries John...

Are you for or against the death penalty?
I am against the death penalty. It does not have the deterrant effect folks seem to think, countries with the death penalty have higher murder rates than those without. As to punishment, if the purpose is to teach, well there's not much teaching done if they're dead. and if the purpose is to satisfy a taste for revenge, well, isn't that a trait we ought to be extinguishing...

Why is anti-Americanism so prevalent in Canada?
When George Bush says things like "they're just jealous of our freedom", to explain anti-American sentiment, it reminds us of Nellie Olseon telling Laura "you're just jealous of my golden curls". Laura hated Nellie because Nellie was a bitch, not because Laura was jealous. Some Canadians disagree with American policies and believe that they are self serving and...

Sorry but I think this question is a bit nutty, are you wondering why there isn't a big media debate? I think there was, about 30 years ago. I've quietly used Ms most of my life. Most forms offer it as a prefix, and in my personal life, most people use my name or initial. I think most women know what they prefer and go about using it without fuss.

Answer to:
How do you make papier-mâché ?
When I was a kid we always used plain old affordable white flour and water paste. Paper mache was a great rainy day activity because newspaper and flour were always around. I've done a couple of nice pieces as an adult, finished with paints, glazes, varathane, no one would know how cheaply they were made. Dried fully, there is no smell or organic degradation

Is slapping a 14 month old baby's hand an effective way
teach them not to touch things that shouldn't be touched?
No, what you teach them is that when you're big you get your way by hitting others. Better to say no and move forbidden item or child. Keep repeating and child will get the message.
Hitting them also weakens the message that I love you and don't ever want to hurt you. there are other ways to teach

It really depends on you. Food seems to be the big deal, and I have never seen so many morbidly obese people in one place (I don't say that to be mean, it's the truth). 23 1/2 hrs. from Denver Colorado to Lethbridge Alberta. I think it's only about 900 miles, but it was over Christmas and I had to white knuckle most of the way. Made the same drive in summer in 13 1/2 hours (back when Montana had no speed limit)

My partners ex-wife is refusing to divorce him even though we have been together for more than 23 years. Can she do this? They have no dependents and we have one who is 12 years old.
It depends where you live. Usually a person files for divorce, a court date is set, and a divorce is heard. The respondent can show up in court or not, but the divorce proceeds. I wonder, has your partner filed? Or are you just getting some sort of excuse?

I have owned my house for 8 years. My husband moved in about 18 months ago, we have been married for 13 months. I want him to leave the house and he refuses. Do I have the legal right to kick him out? he is not on any of the house paperwork
I just went through this. Next time he leaves, change the locks. Call him and tell him what you've done and ask that he not return. If he does, call police. Have your property title handy when they arrive. They may agree to accompany him into the home to get personal items, you can probably get around this by having a bag for him packed by the door. Good Luck!
