It's apparent one side is running much hotter than the other side. What's the problem? Try looking for vacuum leaks, especially near that intake runner and gasket, check vacuum hoses(pinch them off and look for rpm change) near that runner. It sounds like one side of the rebuilt carb is not supplying enough fuel. If its a Quadrajet, one (of 2) of the fuel pick up tubes for that side of the engine may have fallen off. Besides fuses, what would cause the headlights in a 2001 Dodge Dakota pickup truck to NOT turn off? This occurs even when the truck is shut off. Good chance it's the headlight switch, the contacts have burned together. Try tapping on the switch to see if it will release, or just disconnect the wires. Ultimately you will need a new switch. I am assuming you don't have an headlight auto-on device in the circuit. Is the switch on the signal handle? or on the dash?
