Answer to:
According to Genesis 3:16, a woman's husband is supposed to rule over her. What are your thoughts on this?
A husband is/was supposed to protect and provide for his wife, but it is my understanding that Eve was not created from a bone from his head to rule over him nor a bone from his foot to be ruled by him...but from his rib to rule beside him. A wife is/was expected to defer to her husband's judgment in matters as they were all supposed to be geared towards her safety and well being.

What is Death, from a Biblical point of view?
A transition, from a physical existence to a spiritual one. The second death, which is mentioned in the Bible is total separation from God. Which is why Christ cried out on the cross, "Father, why has thou forsaken me?" He suffered the second death for those who would accept Him.

I take Tramadol.
Good-it does what it's designed to do without impeding my ability to function.
Bad-it sometimes makes me itch, I'm not allergic, I just itch . If I take it on an empty stomach, I get heartburn and I am a bit concerned about liver damage, as with any NSAID, so I just take it as needed instead of how it's prescribed. It is said there is some risk of becoming dependent.

It is now 2011....I am wondering just how many Obamaphiles have altered their opinions.
And, though I answered this question in 2009, I still do not think he is a nitwit. He DID manage to get himself elected with little or no credentials and has remained firmly entrenched through situations which would have gotten anyone else impeached by now. CHANGE?? Well he sure didn't lie about that one,...

I don't have an opinion on that. Quite frankly it comes under the heading of "None of my business", same as if it were a heterosexual couple. With all the kids out there without parents, I think it really doesn't matter if the parents are gay as long as they have a loving home.

I understand this question perfectly. I have 2 extremely smart kids and one that is considered average. It's not unusual for a student to develop a "crush" on a teacher. I wouldn't do anything at all, if you report it to the principle it may cause her embarrassment and discomfort in your class. Your parents aren't the ones marrying her. They chose each other did they not? No one has the right to choose who someone decides to spend their lives with. On the other hand, it would probably be a constant source of contention between you so (unfortunately) YOU have to decide which is more important to you. Then again, they would probably (hopefully) get over it.......eventually.

For heaven's sake...seems to me that if you are "cheating" after only a week, you are not ready for a relationship. Maybe you should just date for a while and not form a relationship or have a b/f (which is a commitment of sorts) until you are ready.

If you were against your bf going to strip clubs and he always respected that but is going to vegas and wants to go to one there just to see whould you be okay with that compromise?
Yes, I would. It seems he is respectful of your wishes, why not let him have the experience. Compromise is a large part of any successful relationship.

Why do Atheists mainly rail against Christians, can't they spew their visceral hate at Jews and Muslims too?
I can only speak for the Atheists that I know, and they don't rail against anyone. They are very accepting of the beliefs of others and only ask to be accorded the same respect. I am sure that there are some who "rail", just as there are Christians who do the same. I consider myself a Christian (though not a very "good" one) so if I passed judgment upon someone...

What is the approximate percentage of AB friends requests that you find you accept?
About 99%. I very rarely turn down a friend request, but I do look at their profile (if I have not seen any of their posts) and if nothing is there, I check a few of their Q&As. As long as they are not abusive to others I will accept their request. I don't have to "know" them to accept a request, all my friends...here and in the "real" world...were strangers at...

What preventions are you taking to avoid getting wrinkles?
Wrinkles are pretty much inevitable. Some people wrinkle earlier and have more wrinkles than others but you can keep them to a minimum by staying out of the sun, using sunscreen, slathering on a good moisturizer and trying not to stress too much.

My boyfriend is 22 and he cheated on me with a 16 year old , I admit I was also flirting (not having sex or even kissing) with a co-worker. My boyfriend claims this was just an "itch he had to scratch". Should I trust him?
You can almost certainly trust him....to do it again....and again. Any adult who will have sex with a sixteen year old has NO moral compass to begin with.

Why do so many people incorrectly write/say "PROLLY," instead of the proper/correct "PROBABLY?" Are they lazy, or do they have a speech impediment that prevents the correct pronunciation from being used?
I use it occasionally, especially when texting. I am not lazy nor do I have a speech impediment nor am I uneducated. I speak proper English when necessary..pronouncing/enunciating all my words. When I am chatting with friends, I don't really feel the need to refrain from shortening my words or using slang.

My boyfriend accuses me of cheating on him all the time. I did recently make out with my ex-boyfriend. I feel like my boyfriend pushed me to it because he always accuses me. Is this really cheating?
You don't like your b/f accusing you of cheating..so what do you do? You prove him right. That makes a lot of sense. Now you have nothing to say about his accusations because, yes, if you are in a relationship and make out with someone else...you are cheating.

Who is to blame for the problems in your life?
I am to blame for most of them, either by causing them myself or allowing others to cause them for me. There are a few things that were/are completely out of my control which cause problems for me. I try not to dwell on those as there is absolutely nothing I can do about them other than try to deal with them as best I can.

Answer to:
How long does hurt last? Even when you've put it behind you and move on, is there still a small place within you that is damaged and doesn't heal?
How long hurt lasts usually depends on what kind of hurt it is. And, yes, I think it stays with you always in one form or another. I think how you deal/live with it (or don't deal with it) plays a big part in shaping the person you will eventually be and will help you in dealing with future hurt. Mornin' Rosie! :-)
Answer to:
How do you forgive a woman who cheated on you, and then dumped you?
It's not easy to forgive someone who has hurt you, but if you can..believe it or not..you will feel better. let it go, if you keep holding on to it there is a danger that you may become bitter, and you may miss an opportunity to have something wonderful because of it. Thank your lucky stars that you won't have to go through that hurt again, (with her anyway) and move on.

Questions like "What color is your car?" and "How many pairs of dark glasses do you have?" get ratings up in the stratosphere. What makes those 'good' questions deserving of high ratings?
They are answers which require no thought, and usually receive no argument, therefore, no downrates. That is not a judgement and I am not saying that some people only answer those kinds of questions. They are just really easy to answer. Most people rate the questions they answer, so it just stands to reason that they will get a lot of points.

Would you ever chastise adult members of your family about their table manners?
That would depend on how outrageous they were. A "certain" adult while in a restaurant, put food in his mouth without cooling it first and spit it back into his plate. Some people are just not overly affectionate...I'm one of them. It doesn't mean they can't/don't love deeply, it just means that they don't feel the need to exhibit it all the time. I can't stand it when a guy feels he has to show his affection all the time, it's too much like hovering and clinging. You chose him as your BF so he must have something going...

Chances are...you can't. Accept it and move on, just remember the consequences of your actions, and LEARN from them, in the future.

If you do it right, it only takes once. I don't know if it will work on the newer models, it's been a long time since I have had a manual.

Sounds like an abscess, but only a dentist can tell for sure. Until you can get to one, OTC pain reliever may help. Also I found that a salt pack placed on the affected area provided relief and reduced the swelling. Dampen a small piece of gauze, sprinkle with salt (the more, the better) fold it and place it on your gum. The salt will draw the infection (pus) out and relieve the pressure...

The first mistake was flirting with someone else's husband AND your husband's best friend. you should have not let it go on, but that is hindsight. Now the problem has been compounded to the point that it is going to cause many people a lot of hurt. Stop subjecting your husband to a loveless marriage and let him find someone worthy. It could be that he, indeed, thinks you are a "keeper" and he may want grow the relationship instead of simply falling into it. Slow and steady wins the race. Communication is the single most important thing in a relationship and if this is really concerning you, I suggest you talk to hm about it.

Which is worse, wearing Baggy pants or Skinny jeans?
Both are okay as long as neither is taken to the extreme. Very thin people don't look really good in skinny jeans, they tend to make them look even thinner, to the point of looking sickly. Baggy pants are fine as long as they are not big enough to hold a family of 4 plus the dog and you don't have to bend over to get something out of your pocket.

Can atheists be good parents?
I am friends with an Atheist couple and they are wonderful parents. Being a Christian (lapsed Baptist) I feel it's important for a child to at least be exposed to God and His teachings, but an Atheist does not feel this way so the absence of this aspect of child rearing really does not apply to them.

Because he does not value a relationship. Sounds rather immature to me. If they mean nothing to him and if he loves you, why would he not consider YOUR feelings on the subject? Answer to:
Do you think the world be more receptive to the gospel of Jesus Christ if Christians could learn to live out their faith?
Yes. Most people do not want someone's beliefs crammed down their throat or to be beaten over the head with them. Lead by example not by the belittlement/ridicule of the beliefs of others or by insisting that they MUST believe as you do. It's fine to share your beliefs as long as the person wants to hear it.
Answer to:
What do you think of Atheists?
A person's religion (or non religion) does not determine what I think of them as a person. I know many Atheists and they are wonderful people, well, maybe not a couple of them, but the fact that they are Atheists has nothing to do with that.

I want to belive in the bible, but science has the upper hand and keeps disprooving the bible. i want to belive in the biblical storys but the scientific side makes a more sence. dinosaurs are proven but it says nothing bout them in the bible, helpme plz
There is nothing to "prove" the Bible, it is to be taken on faith, not proof. But there is nothing that says that scientific facts can't be accepted as well. And to date, I know of no scientific fact which gives concrete proof that the Bible is false. One must also remember that the Bible contains parables which are used to illustrate the lessons being taught rather than to be...

I want to go to church but im confused. I've always gone to a baptist church but my boyfriend's family goes to a methodist church. I dont know the difference is. Can someone tell me?
There isn't a lot of difference....depending on the preacher, of course. I was raised as a Baptist, but I feel just as comfortable in a Methodist church as I do in a Baptist one. Sometimes more so as Baptist preachers tend to get overly "enthusiastic" and scream a lot. Sometimes Baptists tend to be a bit hypocritical as well.

Atheists: What is the practical purpose of having emotions? ( if there is one )..
I am curious to know what one has to do with the other. Seems to me that the purpose of emotions would be the same for Atheists and Theists. Anyone with no emotions usually has the personality of a stick.

I was called once, but was not picked...thank goodness! I really don't know how I would handle having someone's life possibly hanging on my decision.

I think at this time he should concentrate on realistic solutions to the problems we are now facing. Not that SOME of his proposed solutions are not somewhat realistic....I think that some of them will only add to the problem instead of resolving it.

Answer to:
Does anyone besides me NOT care that Michael Jackson is dead?
It's not that I don't care, but I didn't know the man. I had sympathy for his friends and family but I didn't cry and "rend" my hair or run out and buy every magazine and/or piece of memorabilia that I could lay my hands on. He was a mortal person, destined to die sooner or later just as the rest of us are.

Should a preacher wear a shirt that says Islam is of the devil?
No. It is not anyone's place to put down the beliefs of another...even if you don't agree with them. For a preacher to wear such a shirt proclaims that he is being judgmental..therefore, it makes him a hypocrite.

If I owe money on car can the fiancé company call a family member and tell them how much I owe, how late I am, etc.? This family member was not a cosigner.
They are not supposed to do that, but I know for a fact that some of them will. And then deny it when confronted. The only way they are supposed to discuss your account with anyone (including a spouse who is not on the contract) is if they have your permission to do so. A reputable company will not.

Not unless you were designated and/or paid to babysit her. I think a good dunking might sober her up a little and serve to show her that alcohol in excess can lead to unpleasant things...as long as someone was able to haul her out of the water, of course. No, but it's better than no apology at all. Sometimes when you offer an apology, the offended person will pick apart and analyze every word, every look and every movement and not consider that the offender may be ashamed, embarrassed and/or truly sorry for the offense. Is it possible to summon a demon and to make a deal with a demon with your soul?
No. The theory is that demons are the minions of Satan, they don't have the power to make deals for souls. Only Satan has that power and since he is known as the father of lies you can't trust him to keep his side of the bargain after he has your soul. The soul is eternal and should not be bartered for "earthly" desires.

Answer to:
If you dated somebody that no one else liked, but that guy or girl was one of the sweetest people you have ever known.. would you deny that you ever dated him or her? Explain.
It would never cross my mind to deny it. I do not base my feelings toward someone on what someone else might think or how they may feel about them. If the person was the sweetest person in the world, I would consider myself blessed to have known them and feel a little sorry for those who missed out.

How does atheism logically lead to happiness?
Since I am not an atheist, I am going to venture a guess, feel free to correct me if I am wrong. I believe that atheists are satisfied with their beliefs, they do not feel or hear God calling to them because they do not believe He exists. Therefore, they don't feel as if anything is "missing" in their spiritual makeup.
Why should they not be happy?
Their beliefs are logical...

My first husband was a mechanic and I found myself under the hood of a car, "tinkering around" more often than I otherwise might have.

What's a word you pronounced wrong when you were a very little, and now, years later it's a big family joke?
When I was 2 or 3, I was convinced that ribbon was a very bad word and to this day, I have NO idea why. I couldn't pronounce it and when I wanted to show my displeasure with my older sisters I would call them "weebons". The ultimate insult....go figure.

Billy Mays gets on my LAST nerve...he seems to think that screaming at you will make him more convincing. He gets muted every time one of his commercials is on so he is ineffective here. But I actually don't like either of them.

If it is considered wrong to drink alcohol, then why was it ok for Jesus to drink wine?
I don't really think it is considered wrong unless it becomes problematic. The Bible speaks against drunkards..those who drink to excess, putting alcohol before other things which should be more important, such as family, responsibility, etc. Also, when you drink to excess your judgment is usually impaired and therefore you are more inclined to do things that maybe you shouldn't.

GOD made a promise not to flood the earth...Rainbows are therefore supposedly a "gift/divine"... If rainbows are a scientific phenomenon and are proven to be on all other planets---THEN THIS IS PROOF THAT SCIENCE--NOT GOD Made Rainbows...????Help me...?
God chose the rainbow to remind us of His promise. Maybe they were very rare in Noah's day due to lack of rainfall. After the great flood, I would imagine that every time it rained, people would be afraid it was happening again. Whether you believe or not, rainbows are nice...why not just enjoy them. By the way...science does not make rainbows...rain/water does. Whether you wish to...

Answer to:
Is the bible just a very good story book or do you believe its true
I believe that, for the most part, it's true. It also contains parables and symbolism intended to guide us. Unfortunately, as with most...if not all...written works, it is interpreted in different ways by different people and they, in turn, sometimes put their own "slant" on what they perceive it to mean and I think that sometimes the real meaning behind the words is completely...

It's YOUR fault??? How was it YOUR fault...did you hit his fist with your face?? Those are not only the ones who refuse to take responsibility for their actions, but are the ones most likely to do it again....and again....and again. After all...they have the old "it's your fault" to fall back on. Speaking from my own experience...I would leave and never look back.

To begin with, I don't agree with abortion. If there are medical reasons, that's different. Anyone who would get an abortion because they are not happy with the sex of the child is, in my opinion, worthy of judgment. No, I would not help her and I don't really think I would want to be friends with someone who could throw away a life over something as trivial as that.

Does anyone else find it vastly amusing that the COATs go around claiming to "replace lost points", when in fact down rates do not affect your point total at all??? No pun intended: Whats the point?
I have never heard a COAT claim to replace lost points. I know that they will give positive points to a downrated answer or question which may not deserve the negative ratings. The point is, they counteract the people who go around giving negative ratings simply because they can. They balance things out, what's wrong with that?

Is Your ENEMY'S FRIEND your ENEMY? If you dislike me and I happen to be friends with someone who is not your enemy will that person automatically become your enemy once you know of our friendship?
Not necessarily. If someone is my enemy it would be on an individual basis..not an enemy by association.
Answer to:
Which of these could provide us with greater level of happiness? Religion or spirituality?
In my opinion, it would be spirituality. Spirituality is a part of you, you feel it in your heart. With religion, you are so busy memorizing and then trying not to break the "rules" that you are left with no time to be at peace and enjoy your beliefs.

That would have pissed me off too. I hate for people to put stickers on my windows and bumpers. I use DeSolve It...it works great and won't harm anything else. You can even wash your hair with it to remove gum and such. Nice orange scent, too.

No I won't. I am not aware of his views and I don't judge a person's abilities because of them. He makes relatively clean films, suitable for most ages and he is an awesome martial artist. Urge him to get professional help and as cold as it may sound, don't allow him to "blackmail" you into staying with him. If he is bound and determined to kill himself, he's going to do it whether you are there or not. Sounds like he may also be using it to get his way.

I am not without compassion for those who may be down on their luck...but I am also a person who is sometimes very "guarded" when it comes to my personal space. I really am not comfortable with people who come to my house unannounced and uninvited. If you need to rely on the generosity of others, do it in a public place preferably with offers to work for money and/or food.

What is you're general opinion on all of these stimulus packages that are going out, to so call boost the economy?
I think it basically boils down to rewarding them for mismanagement. The ones at the top are making outrageous salaries and getting equally outrageous bonuses with funds intended to "bail out" the company. And the money is to be paid back by hard working tax payers who can barely make their mortgage payments.

Yes. No one should have crimes committed against them simply because of who they are. So, what if someone is gay? What difference should that make to someone else? Would chinese, japanese, and korean people get mad if someone like me wanted to speak their language or something? My cousin Jeff had went to south korea and they threw pots at him. Do South Korean's dislike americans? What about Chinese & Japanese?
My daughter and I eat regularly at a local Chinese restaurant. We know a few Chinese words and started to use them there...then we started asking how to say certain things in Chinese. One of the waitresses in particular, when she sees us come in, will come over and start to speak to us in Chinese, then she will tell us what it means and even write it down on a napkin in Chinese characters....
Answer to:
Do you believe every last word in the Bible? Do you think we should take it literally or in some other way?
yes..it's like CaptRon says, if you're not going to believe all of it..why believe any of it. I am not certain that I have interpreted some of it correctly, but I believe it. Some of it is, of course, in the form of parables which are used to teach life lessons.

My boyfriend HATES all citrus fruit, I LOVE oranges. Are we too incompatible to last?
Oh no!!! A citrus hater??!!? Look out, expect to have a life of misery. It starts with a dislike and progresses to an obsession. In the end he will be suspicious that you are sneaking around and eating oranges behind his back. He will question your every move..you will probably develop a need for citrus, which will eventually lead to dependence. This is the leading cause of citrus abuse.

Why would it be inhumane to microwave a live lobster if it's not inhumane to drop it in boiling water?
If you are going to kill it anyway...do it all at once. A microwave would take a lot longer and cook parts of it sooner than others. I would not be able to choose a live lobster for my dinner (or a live anything). If it is already dead, it's different..I can eat it. Weird, huh?

Some Christians believe that God will forgive all and any of their sins even when they break the law. How can that kind of attitude be a good example of a Christian?
God will forgive. That doesn't mean that the judge will. A Christian will be punished by man's law for breaking those laws. Some people seem to think that they can do anything they want to because "God will forgive me"...that is not the right attitude.

Just stop and consider where they come from and what they consist of.

Answer to:
Hi... my 4 week old baby is still sleeping a lot and I have to wake her for a feed. She's still only 7lb 6oz and although she's not losing weight she's only gaining a small amount each week. I try so hard to keep her awake for a feed but it's impossible.
Unless she is missing several feedings due to not waking, I wouldn't worry too much. Babies usually have their own schedules and will let you know when they are hungry. If she falls asleep during feedings, I would do things which would keep her awake. Change positions, talk to her, etc. If you are really concerned, I would advise you to speak to her pediatrician about it.
Answer to:
Would you change your opinion to agree with someone dear to you who is on the death bed even when you know it to be untrue?
If it would make them happy or ease their mind..sure I would, or at least agree with them. That is not the time to think of yourself, when someone dear to you is dying, your convictions should be the very least of your concerns.

The father of my child has been no help with his child and now wants to get full custody. Could he get it?
Usually, the only way this would happen is for him to prove that you are unfit, which is very hard to do...unless you are unfit, of course. The fact that he has had nothing to do with his child will also make him look pretty bad and work in your favor. Let him explain that to the judge.

Are you a fagget?
Fagget? Do you mean faggot? If so the answer is no. Why would anyone consider themselves a bundle of sticks/twigs? Calling someone that seems kind of silly, now doesn't it?
Answer to:
Is being proud of your country something that changes depending on its leaders or are you always proud of your country no matter who is in charge and what he/she does?
I am always proud to be an American. I am not always proud of what the ones in charge do, but everyone should not be judged by a few.
Answer to:
How do you spend Valentines Day when you're single? Is it just another day? Is there too much hype? Is it overrated?
I am not single. Valentine's Day is just another day designed to suck more money out of bank accounts...just like Christmas, Halloween, Easter, etc. has become. I used to look forward to these holidays, but commercialism has taken the pleasure out of them and made them obligatory.

Is it me or is this bordering on the ridiculous..Michael Phelps may have his medals taken away because he smoked marijuana? http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/olympics/article5634206.ece
No, it does NOT border on the ridiculous. It is completely ridiculous. Marijuana is not a performance enhancing "drug". If it is against the rules to use drugs of any kind at any time, he should be reprimanded and fined but he EARNED those medals and should be allowed to keep them.

Do you respect someone who gives their honest opinion even if you don't agree with it?
Always. I respect everyone's opinions whether I agree with them or not. I enjoy different opinions...food for thought. Think how dull it would be if everyone felt the same way about everything. The only time I don't respect them is when they are abusive and/or vulgar about it.

Why does NUNYA always have to comment "+6 Great answer!" to everyone so that she can get points too (and its not even her own question that's asked)? Just curious.
Who says everyone gives her points just because she does that. Maybe they give her points because they like her Q & As, and maybe they give her points because they like her. What difference does it make if she tells people "+6 Great answer"? Seems kinda nice to me. It's a lot better than downrating and then not having the guts to say why.

Dont tell me that im cruel, but is it possible to have my 95 yr old mentally deranged father arrested? he punched me in the arm.i always said that if he so much as touch me,id have him arrested for insane treatment.
It would probably be possible, but why on earth would you do that?? You said yourself that he is deranged. He's not responsible for his actions any more than a two year old would be. I imagine that people would not see you in a very favorable light either. There are places for people who are mentally infirm due to age..they are called nursing homes. I would be very careful of those,...

My daughter fell for a guy That is abusive, unmotivated, disrespectful has tantrums (at 26 his mom gives into) He blames everyone except himself! He has no friends. He is angry and now she is too, she wont leave cuz he has no one.H
Unfortunately, your daughter is going to have to see him for what he is and realize that there is a reason he has no one. The more you point out his faults and try to pull her away from him the more she will (probably) tend to defend him and hang on. Just make sure you are there to support her when she has finally had enough. If he is being physically abusive...keep a real close eye on her...

Why do christians say gays go to hell? Is that an unforgiveable sin? Doesn't the bible say one sin is as another?
I do not think it's a sin and nor am I gay.
Please do not lump all Christians into one people hating category, who thinks everyone is hellbound except themselves. Anyone who presumes to know the mind of God and says what He will and will not forgive, is not a Christian in the first place, only claim to be. These are the ones who claim to "study" their Bibles every day, yet pick and choose what they want to believe and more...

Which term is least offensive to Christians, God-gobber, Jesus freak, fundie or bible thumper?
Why must some people resort to name calling simply because they don't agree with someone's beliefs? I have always heard that it is a sign of insecurity, immaturity and jealousy. I tend to see it as hypocritical because they invariably piss and moan about Christians and God and how they should keep it to themselves, while out of the other side of their mouths, they ask questions such...
