How would music teachers use the ability to understand and extract information from graphics such as charts and tables in their career?

I have been married for 2 weeks. My husband and I are in the military. I recently found out that the only reason he married me was to receive BAH (basic allowance for housing). Is this grounds for an annulment?
I would say it is more grounds for counseling in communication. People say things that are not entirely accurate in early martial disputes. He may have been lashing out or there may be something else going on. Counseling is available in the military. Don't throw your marriage away until you have explored your options.

Why doesn't the American public demand from the government Universal healthcare?
The American public can demand anything it wants to demand, but it has to do two things as well:
1. To make a demand as a unit, it must agree.
2. To follow through with a demand, it must fund that demand.
So, the American public is working that out through our legislative bodies right now.

The pastor shouted out "cross" and a dear old saint started singing, "The Old Rugged Cross."

There is an ancient ritual that is shrouded in open secrecy that takes place AFTER the cook off called, "The Passing of the Gas."

What many people do not realize is that a portion of the fees goes to the toxic waste cleanup crews that decontaminate the property subsequently.

Which is the STRONGER emotion, love or hate?
Love is stronger. Hate is artificial and not a primary emotion. Like anger, it has its roots in unnatural fear. In the end, love can always trump hate because it is primary and genuine. But it is really not about which is stronger. It is about which we choose. If we choose love, it will always overcome hate. If we choose hate, we will go on hating.

The only other al;alternative would be a strictly and totally centralized economy with no incentive for personal accomplishment. Eventually, that would fail. Is God a failure? Pretty much everything he created has gone wrong. The angels rebellion, Adam & Eve, wiping out almost all humanity with a flood because it was so evil, the Israelites worshipping other gods, wars, disease, famine, rap music etc., etc.
God is willing to be vulnerable by making it possible for humans to choose to ignore, malign, deny, or even hate Him. Sin may not have been inevitable, but He did anticipate it and the possibility of it was necessary for any creation to be made in His image with freedom and dignity. Love has to be freely given. If there is no possibility of refusing love, love cannot be given.

I'm sorry, friend. Obama called and said Rick has a bad cold and may not make it for the invocation tomorrow. He asked if I would be on stand-by until tonight some time. If needed, they will send an Air Force jet for me. He said they couldn't pay me much, but that I could get into a couple of the buffets for free.

What should a person do when they feel old, fat, and boring?
There is nothing wrong with being old. If you are fat, and you don't want to be, you can start a program of health enhancement. As far as boring goes, the secret to not being boring is not to be bored. Get involved with helping some people in a challenging community project. You will probably also get younger and thinner in the process.

There's a girl who rides my bus and she always brags about how rich she is. Some of the boys started calling her "Rich Bitch" and she starts to cry everytime they do this. Is this okay even if she brought it upon herself?
It is not OK to tease people or malign them. That is not to say that her bragging was a good thing either, but it sounds like it has come out of some insecurity or need in her life. It is obviously backfiring on her, but she does need a friend and she doesn't need to be called names. She might need advice, but she mostly needs love.

It is an attempt to find something we can wrap our brains around. Categories, no matter how unfair and inaccurate, are attempts to control our environment. The trick is to know when to discard them and how not to let them lock in our thinking.
This is reinforced by rather lazy media that play to the stereotypes rather than challenging them.

I don't pay any attention to a person's level when interacting with them. It is really a function of how much time they spend on here and how long they have been participating. It is no indication of the quality of the information they are sharing. Everyone starts somewhere.

I have never been homeless, but my son is. He is because of some choices he has made as well as some mental issues that I believe he has. People try to cope with him for as long as they can, but it is difficult because of his behavior.
Nevertheless, I try to help him as much as I can. He works, but he doesn't make enough and he still needs food.

Do English people have an accent? Or is it becuase they are English that it's supposed to be spoken like that?
We all speak with accents because we all accentuate different tonalities, vowells, syllables, and words in our speech differently. In England, there are many variations on accent - not just one.
There was a funny story about the time when Jimmy Carter was elected President. A Southerner said, "Finally, a President WITHOUT an accent."

Short of a time machine, do you think we will ever truly found out how the earth began, with out theories and "I thinks" or "I believes".
The only time machine we'll ever have is the one that moves us forward in time.
So, that leaves speculation based on observation of what is happening in the universe as far as we can see it and understand it.
That is limited, but very, very interesting. It can also give us a lot of insight and the possibility of better speculation.
Now, if you believe the Bible, as I do, then you...

Why do criminals get so mad and go crazy when they get caught doing something illegal?
There has to be a degree of narcissism in some criminals in order to repeatedly violate other people to meet their perceived needs. I am talking about those who do so without a moral twinge or twitch, those who suffer no significant pangs of conscience. I am not talking about those who are desparate or weak under pressure, or who commit one-time crimes of passion. Those with narcissistic,...

Based on these assumptions that (a) we are talking about Jesus in His earthly form, 2000 years ago and (b) we allow for thepossibility that Superman might be real and alive and able to meet Jesus at a table 2000 years ago, Superman would win because Jesus chose to empty Himself of His supernatural physical powers to live among us.

Not to do so diminishes our humanity and makes it easier for us to justify inhumane treatment of our fellow humans.

This may sound cynical, but as an observer of the system, I see guilty people getting off without adequate accountability or protection of their victims and innocent people getting railroaded into agreeing to marks on their records. It is a broken system. However, I think the severity of the crime does, to some extent, dictate the attention that the professionals will give to a given case ......

The population grows faster than the supply of available jobs! What solutions might the world come up with in the future?
You asked the question about jobs rather than about resources. As long as there is a demand for resources, there will be a demand for jobs to produce them. These will fluctuate and go through changes in their nature as less expensive labor markets replace more expenisive ones, as technical demands change, and as machines take over certain functions. However, that part will balance out globally...

Answer to:
Do you forgive? When yes and when no? Can you forget?
1) Yes.
2) When I am wronged or think I have been wronged (because I am sometimes wrong about that - grin).
3. It is hard to forget, but I can make it a point not to dwell on it and that is the next best thing.
There is no point in not forgiving. It is in our best interest. Not to forgive empowers people who wrong us to control some portion of our lives, emotions, or memories.

No.
Most people could benefit from some lessons in thinking though - if they want them.
Some of our thoughts are hurtful to us, such as self-hating thoughts, thoughts that we can never accomplish great things, thoughts that are impure (and that includes all sorts of things - not just sex, but violence, hate, bitterness), and thoughts that really take us no where, but dominate our time.

I don't hunt, but others do.
Some must hunt for food or choose to do so. It is not for me to judge them.
Some hunt to save the lives of animals because population has encroached upon feeding grounds and upset the balance of nature. Under the circumstances, some species will become extinct if they or other species are not hunted in a regulated manner.

Is god angry at all the athiests for not beleiving in him? what do you think hes going to do when athiests die and go up for judgement? Do you they will feel stupid for not beleving?
I don't think God picks out people to be angry with.
His anger is beyond our comprehension - it is against untruth, but it is not human anger. It is not an emotion.
It is more like a brick wall or a mighty tide that does not move, bend, or flinch to accommodate our choices, beliefs, or preferences. The harder we hit up against it, the more it seems like we have experienced anger.

Practically speaking, it is unlikely. I have tried to keep some truly dangerous people committed for the full 72 hours for a evaluation-hold and it just doesn't happen.

Nausea and dizziness are symptoms that show up in all sorts of maladies - some serious, most not serious. But they are bothersome symptoms and call for treatment and evaluation. You doctor can ask the right questions, do the right exams, and order the right tests to rule out any serious problems. Don't be reluctant to call. Two weeks is too long to let that go.

What do you mean by greatness?
Was he effective in deluding the masses, soliciting blind loyalty, playing on people's worst hate and fears, and successfully nearly destroying civilization?
He certainly had the ability to do that.
But greatness has to do with reaching one's fullest potential and helping others to do the same.
At that, he was a miserable failure in leadership.

How do you eat a banana?
I rip the peel off and gobble it down.
Sometimes, though, for a real treat, I cut it up, put it in a bowl, add Nutrasweet, pour half and half on it, and gobble it down.
I can think of many, many ways to eat my favorite fruit ...
but I always like it spotted and ripe enough to smell from a few feet away.

Answer to:
Is it true that truly happy people are those who, like children, are made blissful by the smallest things?
Or. as Rabbi Abraham Heschel said on what he thought was his death bed. He actually lived several more years.
"I did not ask for success; I asked for wonder. And you gave it to me."
It is that childlike quality of which Jesus said, "Of such is the Kingdom of God>"
A Kingdom of joy.
Happiness is a choice.
Excellent question with a deep though at the core.
Answer to:
Do memories fade?
When I am dead, my dearest,
Sing no sad songs for me,
Plant thou no roses on my head,
Nor shady Cyprus tree.
Be the green grass above me,
With flowers and dew drops wet,
Happily may remember
And happily may forget.
- Christina Rossetti(1830-1894)
Of course, as long as the brain is viable, they are in there somewhere.

Swing low, sweet chariot,

I'd be buried in my grave,
And go home to my Lord and be free.

No matter your skill does it hurt to have a little luck?
No. It doesn't hurt.
Luck is a function of statistical probabilities.
There are 4 aces in every deck of 52 cards. Every 13th draw is an ace statistically, but it might come on the 20th or at some other point.
However, there will be 4 aces before all the cards are drawn.
Whoever draws one, feels lucky.
Skill does wonders for luck in most life scenarios. So do persistence,...

Why do people say they are of a class or from the same religious/belief background as their parents/ancestors? Surely everyone is they're own person.
In religion, it means they ascribe to the basic beliefs of the religion that their families embraced. That is a personal decision for most and a cultural one for others.
I do not equate class with religion. In fact, i am not sure there is any validity to class distinctions in American society.

I see so much bad grammer and poor spelling on the web. Do you think that it is because of poor education or just typing mistakes?
Maybe folks do not understand that the functions of grammar and spelling are to provide some tools for a common language in which we can all communicate and be understood. Without the basic rules of language usage, we may or may not be able to get our message across to the people who are reading what we write.

I have no idea what your pastor means by a "heart like yours," but I do know what the Bible says and God has both promised and given you a new heart. That is the true heart that beats within you and has done so from the moment you trusted in Jesus Christ and committed your life to Him. God hears that heart. it is still beating. Under both a democratic house/senate & president Obama, will the "unions" return to prominence in America as America's big labor management agency? If so, in your opinion will this be good or bad for America?
I do not believe that the retreat of union dominance has been a result of who was in the White House and Congress, nor do I believe that the government can/will reverse the trend. It believe it is driven by the marketplace and the workers themselves.

In the song "happiness" Ken Dodd claims "A wise old man said to me one time, Happiness is a state of mind" Do you think that that conversation ever took place, or was he making it up to illustrate a point?
I've had several wise old men tell me that - so I think it is very likely he did too.
By the way, it is true.

Is there ever a point in one's life when they finally stop putting others down to get a rise out of them or make them feel awful about themselves? I'm 26 and STILL come across people my age and older who are like this. Is it in their nature to be mean?
Sometimes you just have to decide to hang around more positive people.
Those that are positive tend to be those who do not do that.
There are exceptions.

Again, charged with what?
Was it used in a crime?
Is it registered?
Did you have access to it?
There are two many unanswered questions, but I can't imagine that you are in any trouble.
If you think she is going to use it in a crime, you might have an obligation to report that.

I am not sure the relationship between Shoney's, Lindy's, and Bob's, but they were all part of the Big Boy franchise with the comic books, art, and similar menus.

What is the most mindless job you have ever had?
Walking around the tarmac of an airport as a graveyard shift security guard. No offense to professional security people here. I was not that. I was just someone walking around with a hat that was too big for my head and no possibility of saving any of those planes if someone tried to steal them :)
However, I was very grateful for the job when I was in grad school and had a lot of time to...

My answer is in my comment to you.

He tried to blame the same toy, but no joy yet
I wondered could I salvage or discard it
But he's outside on the ground throwing a yard fit."

<ggg> or <GGG> when it is really funny, pretty much laughing
<s> for smile
<S> for a big smile
My mentor online just said, "Ha," or "ha ha," or some variation.
You could also just type,...

Answer to:
Why does it seem fair to drop the intrest rate on people who can't pay their mortgage but do nothing for those who can?
It is not fair, but fairness is not the motive.
If all your neighbors default on their mortgages, the banks lose, the property values drop, and you lose money too.
Their motive is not altruism; it is to keep the entire market from collapsing.
They would much rather get something than nothing.

Are you scared for our economy?
I am concerned about what might happen to people who are close to retirement and the immediate effects of the down turns. However, we always come back from these things. The economy recovers because it is necessary that it do so and people who depend upon the healthy flow of money and resources will pool their creative energy and do what is necessary to make it happen.

Human beings usually pray to God for their welfare and prosperity and also remember God in their difficult situations. Do animals, birds and reptiles also pray to God for their welfare and prosperity and remember God in their difficult situations?
I think that is an advantage we have and is part of what it means to be made in God's image - the capacity to communicate with God.
Animals (the non-human kind), most likely do not entertain philosophical, theological, intellectual, or existential thought. Some of that would be necessary to create a capacity for prayer.
On the other hand, they generally live in harmony with God and...
Answer to:
Why "should" you feel good when your doing bad?
Sometimes it is helpful to feel a little bad when doing bad things if what we really want is positive change. However, shame seldom produces change, so, if the desire is for improvement and our performance just hasn't caught up yet, a general demeanor of optimism is helpful. If one can hope and believe, one can achieve more.
Now if you are talking about actively doing evil and harm to...
