I married my wife when she was 17, and we are very happy and years later. I don't think that the "minimum" depends on the maturity of the person, not their age. My mother-in-law, who was very supportive signed a waiver for her and gave her away (since her father passed).

In the Army, when in uniform, we salute our national anthem. We stand at attention when the national anthem of another country is played. I've personally extended the gesture to other national anthems even out of uniform.

The only time you don't salute in a war zone is when you are on a base that has a challenge and password or when you are outside the wire. All other times you salute.
