Many women complain that men will not date them if they are heavy Are women hypocritical when they wont date a man because he is short?

    In principle, yes.

    However, Personal standards are as unique as they are subjective.

    Comparing fat to short as to say...Her not dating him because of being short is the same as him not dating her because she is intensely voluptuous.

    I.E. Apples are to fruit

    as

    Oranges are to fruit.

    But, depending on the context and logical basis of said personal standards, the logic can change.

    I.E.:

    Apples and oranges are to fruit

    as

    Apples are to to non-citrus fruit

    as

    Oranges are to citrus fruit.

    Who is to say which(fat or short) is more relevant and why?

    One may be about physical attraction and the other may be about genetic preference in relation to long term romantic goals(marriage/ children, life investment,companionship).

    One may be about some one's ego and not being seen with a fat chick, and the other might be about the assumption/assertion that a short man has a short penis.

    One might be about a deep embedded underlying pathological fear or phobia of large women like the one that sat on him when he was a toddler, and the other might be about a deep deep embedded underlying pathological fear or phobia about short men like the man that raped her.

    One might be about a bet over a billion dollars, while the other is about matching someone in accordance to cultural rules and parental standards such as in an arranged marriage.

    Etc...etc...

    Different context, Lots of variables.

    It is certainly hypocritical if it is the same women complaining about both. Personally, I am over weight and just celebrated my 25th wedding anniversary. My husband is taller than me but being 5'2" most people are taller than me lol.

    they should stop complaining, a man has all right to prefer one type of woman over another. Either wait for mister right to come along and prefer YOU, or simply adapt to the general preferred type.

    if the same woman who complains about guys not dating her because she is fat won't date a short person then yes it is hypocracy... and what is worse is that while you can do something about being fat (yes I know it is difficult).... you can not do anything about being short.
    the far more pervasive hypocraacy is women who complain that they rarely get asked out yet they would absolutly NEVER ask anyone out.

    I don't think they're the same women. Those who have suffered prejudice for whatever reason ought to be more accepting and less judgmental since they know how unfair it is to be judged for their packaging and not their content. I personally am more interested in content than packaging and I am not alone in that. Happy Tuesday! :)

    Most men do not expect a woman to date someone shorter than her BUT thats not the problem with women and this height thing. The problem is a guy can be much taller than them but still be too short for them to date. An example I know this lady who is 4ft 11in, she will not date any man under 6 foot. So even though all those men from 5ft to 5ft 11in are taller and some MUCH taller are still too short for her. No matter how short they are you better be atleast 6 foot.

    :) I find this question quite funny. I like it. I do think that us women can be hypocritical.... sometimes. lol.if there was other as an option I would've picked it. I just think that we all have different tastes. personally, I do like guys that are taller than me. It just makes me feel... not very feminine if the guy is shorter than me. This is just my taste... men have their preferences on heavy women and women have their preferences on short guys. As long as we all find the one... That's all that matters. :)

    Nah, it's the same as anyone having a preference.. some people don't like blonds, some people don't like dating asians.

    If you have a preference... that's your business and it's what makes you happy. It shouldn't effect anyone but yourself. As long as you don't date someone and expect them to change to fit what you want them to be.
