I work in a drug rehab. I know it's extremely hard to get over withdrawals on your own, but some people do it. If you're using suboxone/subatex or methadone, make sure you visit your detox doctor very regularly, so he can monitor your recovery and gradually lower the doses for you.
Keep in mind that like any other treatment, these have to be used with other tools in your recovery plan.
