The bible states at (Ecclesiastes 1:4) A generation is going, and a generation is coming; but the earth is standing even to time indefinite.

That doesn't mean that God will allow conditions to remain as they currently are.

(Proverbs 10:30) As for the righteous one, to time indefinite he will not be caused to stagger; but as for the wicked ones, they will not keep residing on the earth.

(Psalm 37:10-11) And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. 11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.

(Psalm 37:29) The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it.

If people will listen we have about 10 years. If we do not change our ways we will be on the slippery slope. Capitalism and it's idea that we have an unlimited amount of resources will be our undoing with the states leading the parade. With their more than half of the population believing this is only a temporary wait until heaven. I give it till the end of the century and they will look back on all that was. And people it's food shortages that will kill more than half the planet by then.

I will have to say forever or really until the sun expires, cause wars climate change, and natural disasters dont mean anything, because they have been happening throughout all of human history.

Couple hundred thousand years I assume if nothing happens about 5 billion the earth will be destroyed when the sun runs out of energy and turns into a blue giant or something like that. I forgot... =/

They'll continue to inhabit the planet until the atmosphere is depleted of oxygen or until the sun strips the radiation belts surrounding the earth.
None of which can be done by humans.

ten generations is probably an underestimate. i'd guess we'll be around another 100,000 years or so. when we stop inhabiting the earth it'll be because we've gone extinct. we'll never get off this planet.
