If you had to trust Sauron's One Ring to one of the following politicians, who would you trust and why?

Sauron's One Ring is stored in a warehouse next to the Ark. (It's been there since the 1930s.) You are voting on which public figure is going to keep it. These are the only choices. Who do you trust?

NO ONE as the ring answers to only one master and he does not share power with anyone ... and since the minds of humans are so easily swayed by that power none is trustworthy enough not to be corrupted by it ...

    ~Nemo~

one ring to rule them all
    one ring to find them
one ring to bring them all
and in darkness bind them ....

    J.R.R Tolkien
The Lord of the Rings ...

Sarah Palin is the closest thing to a Hobbit on the political landscape.

Considering that Sauran's ring is destined to corrupt anyone who wears or even carries it, I would not give it to the least corrupt person in power.

Remember the Hobbit Smeagul, who became Gollum due to the ring, and how it altered Bilbo's mind.

The corruption would be much worse for someone who actually uses it to achieve specific ends and its siren call ensures that it is used. No matter who had it, that person would wind up just as bad as any other person of power who had it.

If I had to give it to someone, no other choice, it would not matter. We would screwed.

I don't know why, but I'm convinced Barry would slink away with it and live under a mountain for the next few decades, which would be ideal. And if he didn't, well, he's already the most powerful person on the planet, so what difference does it make? Although I think George Soros is the one who would really want the ring. Obama wouldn't think the ring would make him any more powerful, since he's already in his perfect form, and I don't think he cares about power except to feed his own ego, so really the ring would just be a distraction for him. He probably wouldn't even use it, but simply possessing it would still have a deleterious effect on his mind. Eventually he'd develop a penchant for raw fish and a hatred of the sun. So, into the cave he goes, yes precious.

The ring corrupts all humans, so I can't give it to anyone else, trusting that they could resist the ring. We need Sarah and Ron, sort of like Eowyn and Faramir, in their current states to combat George Soros, who is already Sauron anyway.

Nancy would definitely be a dark queen of some sort, so that's no good. Ralph... maybe more like giving it to Tom Bombadil, but if you've read the books you know why they didn't give it to him.
