    Injuries can stop hitting streaks which is why it's hard to break this record.

    Joe D, just not ever gonna happen, the game has changed far too much for someone to really make that challenge. I think the other one is the stolen base record held by Ricky Henderson, it's a lost art now-a-days and when you consider the number of years he posted 75 or above stolen bases, it just won't happen again I think.
