i'm not a sports fan in anyway, so maybe that's ignorance talking, but i don't really see the big deal about using steroids...
    .
    people call it cheating...
    why?
aren't those players playing the same game, with the same rules ?
    .
so they have different training regiment, on that incorporates taking steroids...
    .
how is that different from athletes goin on special diets and taking additives ?
    .
during the history of sports every appliance and accessory was perfected to be the most use to the player. pads, helmets, bats, jockstraps, hell even their underwear are made from special materials.
    .
so why not the body ?
i think that's just purists being purists.
why not go back to the days helmets were made of leather ?
    steroid are here to stay.
you can discourage them, but you can't wipe them out.

I don't think it is possible to catch all steroid users which would be necessary to prevent players from being allowed into the hall of fame. Then the question as to whether or not previous hall of fame members used steroids or not and whether to let them stay or kick them out. For example, my favorite football player ever was Earl Campbell and, with the way he used to run, it is reasonable to suspect steroids. Also, what would become the standard for being a hall-of-famer if those one steroids outperform those who are not? Would the hall of fame become a shrine to mediocre players? The best answer that I can come up with is to have two different halls, one for physically enhanced, and one for natural players. And to do that, well, you might need two leagues, one for physically enhanced and one for natural players. I just don't see a reasonable way to ban steroid users. So, yes, let them into the Hall of Fame.

Only if the steroids was for medical reasons, other wise its enhances your ability and it should be a reward for hard work, not for being an idiot on drugs.

Athletes have used performance enhancers for generations - what do you think "greenies" (amphetamines) were in the 1960s and 1970s, when they were used by most major league baseball players? If a player like Mickey Mantle used them and is in the baseball HOF, and Lawrence Taylor was a crack addict and is in the pro football HOF, where do we draw the line?

You can moralize all you like, but you're being hypocritical...

never should they be allowed in the hall of fame, they who used steroids weren't even the person achieving everything, it was the steroids. those people don't deserve anything, because all they're doing is cheating, and harming their body.

I don't think that players should use them at all but big business is a sport and feats that can only be accomplished with chemical aid are one of the things that keep consumers watching. Do you all of the excitement during the MLB season when Sammy Sosa and Mark Mcgwire were racing to beat the home run record? I don't think athletes that cheated and used them should be allowed in but once steroids are the norm then sure they should be allowed in but a distinction between pre and post steroid hall of famers should be made.
