Preference: Fair skin, Pale skin, or Tanned skin?

I like fair skin the best, this is the difference:

Pale skin is more of a white or pink state of skin, whereas fair skin is like Nicole Kidman above, we all know tanned skin.

    Anything that's natural anything that is not altered using any extra or cosmetic effort.Tanning using sun or solarium is not what I would ever go for or recommend.The health benefits are just hyped ones.Besides cancer, skin aging occurs at a rapid rate due to tanning.
    So either fair, dark, pale or any other color, it has to be the original one.My opinion, though.

    Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

    Apart from individual preferences, you'll also see whole cultures opting for a certain skin tone. In traditional Chinese and Indian circles, light or pale skin tones are prefered because it is an 'indicator' of higher social status (ie. It shows you don't work in the fields or labour under the hot sun). Europeans and Americans are more body conscious and like to show off their bodies - and IMO slightly tanned or tanned bodies do look better.

    On the health side you do need a littel bit of sun on your skin for vitamin D production and to keep sane during those long dark winter months.
