    Asker's Pick

Selected by the asker, keithold is a prodigal bagger. (What's this?)

I've worked on most Xmase's and new Years's, so yeah. If you're a waitress it's a damn good way to make uber tips since everyone there feels sorry for you. DOIT.

I landed at this job right after I graduated from college 19 years ago. Everything I have, everything I own I owe it to this job. Two years after I graduated and started working I decided to go back to college to further my
education......they paid for it, eventhough what I was taking--English Literature--had nothing to do with my line of work. I'd pick up the phone any time, any day.

Sure, I volunteered to be on call during Christmas week.
It helps my co-workers who celebrate Christmas, while I do not.

    Yes.

Because I know work will ONLY contact me in the event of a real emergency or some other need for something very urgent.

Even while I was in the Navy, this was true.

Yes and as a matter of fact,I did a few hours ago, though I don't have to rush to office. It's my work and not the Christmas keeps me going all through the year.I'm not among those who grumble out on every slightest of inconvenience in the way of enjoyment. If they let me work all the day and leave me free at the evening, then also I've no complains.Lately, things are going really well at work so,I don't wanna mess up anything for the sake of a day.
    .
Luckily,It's a day off and I'm there with people who care me.Keeping myself busy sending tons of Ecards to friends and relatives which are self developed and the quotes within are self composed.

It depends on my mood. I like Christmas, but I don't make a huge fuss over it.

No, because my family is much more important than working. In the end, you'll have your family left.

No, I would not. The rest of the year is devoted to work. That one day is devoted to my family.

We have an answering machine so it would depend on the message that was left, who left it and what was going to be required of me. Happy Saturday keithold! :)

Not unless I get a job by then. When you are not working it's easy not to take calls from a boss.

Of course. With unemployement/underemployment heading towards 20% with no light at the end of the tunnle, don't only be thankful to have a job is this awful, awful economy, but do all you could to protect that job. Don't help this all time high unemployment and foreclosure rate in 2009 get any higher. Besides, you mayneed the extra money once all those huge tax increases go into effect.

I also wouldn't take a call on a Sunday from my job or from a tella-marketer unless they wanted to talk about God and Jesus. In which case I ask them if they are saved.

I finished 2 weeks ago, so getting a call from work at Christmas would be a surprise to say the least. I wouldn't work it, I need to be with my gf and family at this time of year, boss man can have me the other 48 weeks.

No way! Not unless I had signed on to possibly being called in to work on holidays, when I was hired. Otherwise, my Christmastime is FAMILY time!
