Do people of the Arab world want Western style democracy or do they just want to exchange one form of tyranny for another-like Iran did?

    You'd have to educate the population before they could give you a definate answer. Most intellectuals want democracy but in the process, because of the low education standard and the very strong influence of religion, they may even settle for a religious dictatorship.

    I don't think either of your choices is appropriate. Most countries in the Middle East have never experienced democracy, so have no knowledge of what it is, but they certainly don't want tyranny either.

    The Arab world has never lived with democracy and never will. They have lived as a tribal society since inception and can't and won't change.
