Thank you for your response shunyata. I too was under the assumption that Mt.Everest was the highest of the mountains in the world, but I have a DVD which is a Documentary and on there is stated that the Himalayas were the highest. I was confused and wanted to see if someone else agreed with me or if I was under the wrong assumption in what I was informed.

the himalaya mts are a mt range.... the highest mt in the world is in the himalaya mt range. yes the himalaya mounta range has the HIGHEST mt. in the world...and the highest there is mt everest.
