    Asker's Pick

Selected by the asker, canbfrisky. (What's this?)

They should be able to feed the baby any time the baby is hungry, just like big people eat when they are hungry. I do think, however, that discretion should be used. It is quite possible to breastfeed without anyone knowing what is going on. There is no reason to flop out a breast and let it dangle all over the place. Snuggle the baby up, put a light blanket over it, and let it eat.

BE ALLOWED? in regards to what?

The baby can't wait for the moral police to tell them when it's time to eat or not.

Let the woman feed her child without telling her off just because someone's feeling the need to wax their wand.

Yes. It's a natural and nurturing act and every woman I know who has done that has done it discretely.

I think the time, place, and amount of modesty involved with breastfeeding in public should be 100% at the mothers discretion. Nobody should tell her how or where she can feed her hungry baby. I find it beautiful, unfortunately some see my adoring glances as sexual perversion, but it isn't even related.

For those that don't like it, the answer is simple. DON'T LOOK! If you can't control your own eyes, that is a fault with yourself, not the mother feeding.

It can be done modestly without making a big deal about it. All it takes is a small baby blanket to do the job. It is completely natural and normal and I'm guessing the people who don't approve are those who don't have kids or don't breastfeed. Happy Friday cbf! :)

I would say not in restaurants or crowded areas, just for general hygiene. It's bodily fluids after all.

In a park or some where like, go ahead and whip 'em out.

As long as a man can take a piss outdoors without being labled a sex offender then I'm ok with it.

Mothers should be allowed to breast feed anywhere and any place! They should not have to hide or go somewhere else to do so. Please see the following information:

and this group also fights for the rights to breast feed

It makes me so angry just to think about this.
I wish I could get hold of the bastards that make women feel embarrassed about breastfeeding, and beat some decency into them. Preferably with a bat - but as long as there's some concrete handy to beat their head against, fists will do I guess.

How can anyone have the nerve to try to intimidate mothers into not breastfeeding, of all things? If you don't like it, guess what, you can just NOT LOOK at it, retards!

Of course women should breast feed when and where necessary. There is nothing dangerous or distasteful about breasts or breast feeding.

In Europe, where I live, women sunbathe topless in public places. There are no hordes of sexually deranged men because of this. Nudity is seen on TV, in commercials, in ordinary magazines. It's generally seen as something beautiful.

So, the whole thing about feeding a baby becomes kind of moot. Baby is hungry, mom has ready supply... where's the problem? In the summer you can see it in parks, and elsewhere. Some people look because it can be a lovely sight.
But I have yet to see any public health issues (such as one might fin in other "perfectly natural" human activities that we all do in private) or sexual concerns.

And the "done in good taste" I see mentioned here in some answers... What does that mean? After all... if you don't like the sight then look somewhere else.

Any other reasons not to do it?

I don't have a problem with it at all. I just think more people should just mind their own business.

Yes, it may be natural, but there are public decency laws, and flashing your breasts in public, regardless of what you are doing with them just isn't okay. Put a blanket over yourself and then let baby snack away. Urinating is natural too... so is sex for that matter, but it's not okay to do in public either. Just cover yourself up ladies.

If the child is hungry and it's done discreetly then there should be no objections, but some people do take offence.
I'm not sure it should be done as a blatant statement though - on the grounds that it's only natural - so's toileting, and sex, but that's not usually done in full view of the public either. (But that might depend on the neighborhood!! :))

NO THEY SHOULD NOT> if i whip out my dick and take a piss in the parking lot at walmart i will go to jail for one count of public urination and probably countless counts of lewd and lacivous conduct on an minor. i will end up on a sex offenders list for the rest of my life. but some lady can bust her tit out in the middle of burger king and let her baby suck on it in front of me...shes disturbing my peace and should be arrested. women argue that it is natural and they can do it because its required for the baby...well taking a dump is natural but i wouldnt do it in the middle of a resturaunt while you were eating your egg salad.

I think way too many people in western cultures are uptight about this and many other issues. Mothers should be able to breastfeed any time and any where.

Yes. If it can be done quietly without attracting undue attention I see no problem with it. A light blanket covering momma while she is cradling the baby works and those who find a problem with it perhaps don't have children or don't like them very much. Now, a flagrant, in-your-face, dare you to say anything, belligerance is a different matter. Good taste and being polite should be involved here in my opinion. Happy Saturday! :)
