What would your main reason be for visiting an art gallery or a museum?

    I go for entertainment, learning and to experience that environment.

    It all depends on which museum or art gallery I would be visiting.

    My favorites have been the Smithsonian Museums, The International Spy Museum and The Dulles Air and Space Museum .. all in Washington DC. The Museum of Science and Industry and Art Institute in Chicago.

    I would actually say a combination of all three. Definitely learning (I read everything) and experiencing different pieces, which, in a way, provides a sense of entertainment.

    I find the experience of going to Museums very inspirational and cleansing. I'm not religious, but I would describe going to a Museum and seeing a gorgeous piece a religious experience. At least that's how I felt seeing my first Van Gogh, or riding a chairlift up the mountain to go snowboarding and seeing the vast mountains covered in fresh snow. Just a great experience that makes me think outside of my everyday hassles.

    Well, for one thing, an art museum, or a good one, is clean. Very clean. The air is very
    clean. They usually have an advanced form of air conditiioning. If that isn't true, then the art therein suffers. The
    paintings and probably everything else is clean. The museum in Raleigh, NC is very
    clean. There are early Egyptian coffins in the museum, and there are also Renaissance
    paintings there. Cleanliness is everything in such as place.
