    While a case can be made that the Patriarchs of Genesis were in some sense Henotheistic or Monolatrous, from Moses to Malachi the religion taught by the prophets was Monotheistic. Yes, they believed in myriad celestial, cthonic, and infernal spirits (angels in all their orders, and the demons and unclean spirits worshipped as gods by the nations), YHVH alone was the true God with a capital G - the uncreated creator and ruler of all things.

    I believe they got into some pretty big trouble when they started pretending YHWH had a wife.
