You're reading Is Jesus Christ really the Lord God Almighty, or is he just another son of God?

He is Firstborn, over all things and above all things, our God and our Provider.

Right, the Firstborn of God the Father.

The title Firstborn is for the One who is Over All. It is an Israelite term for the head of the family.

Hi East Hill,
When you say the Lord "God" Almighty do you mean "Jehovah"?
Doesn't the Bible call Jesus "the Son of the Most High"? (Luke 1:32)
If Jesus is "the Son of the Most High" who then would be the "Most High" according to the Bible?
by nick batchelor on November 13th, 2011
The reason Jesus was crucified or one of the reasons is He claimed to be the Son of God. According to John 19:7 I believe another falacies is that Jesus was created. The first chapter of John shows that not to be true. Another falicy is Jesus preexisted as Michael and while Jesus was alive Michael did not exist and after Jesus died Michael willed himself back into existance and was promoted to a mighty god. The Bible clearly states there is only one God none were before Him and none will be after Him. He created every thing created.

a) the Trinity
b) the Son
c) His GOD and Father

Hi Nick.
I'm sorry I didn't respond to your comment earlier. I must have missed the alert.
Members of the LDS Church believe that Jehovah of the Old Testament is Jesus Christ of the New Testament.
Christ is the Son of the Most High, meaning God the Father. He is also the Most High God. Christ has many different names and titles. When He is referring to His Father, he defers to Him and gives the Father the appropriate honor and recognition. However, as the Son of God, Christ has inherited those divine traits and is also God, like His Father.
That's what we believe anyway. I know JW's believe differently, and I'm cool with that.
I hope you're doing well.

That's okay East Hill. I miss some all the time. For some reason I don't always get an alert.
Remember we discussed previously that the Bible shows that Jehovah is the Most High. (Psalms 83:18) If Jesus is the Son of the Most High he is also the Son of Jehovah right?
Also, if Christ inherited it from His God and Father that means at one time he was not the Most High. The Most High does not need to be given anything, he always had it. I know we agree to disagree but I hope you can at least see where we are coming from. To think otherwise makes little sense to me but made total sense to you. I don't see it.
I'm doing great and so is my family. Are you getting reading for the skiing season?
by nick batchelor on November 21st, 2011
I don't ski anymore. With 4 kids, it's just too darn expensive. Even for me alone, it's still pretty spendy. An all day pass can cost $50 or more, depending on where you go. Factor in lunch, gas, and any other expenses and you could easily blow $100. If you take the whole family, it could cost $500 or more.
