What would the highest paying job be for a young, pretty girl, who is currently a college student?

People want to have contact/communication with people who are attractive! I worked at Hooters for 2 years, so I'm used to letting people know that I can and do take care of myself physically. Companies want people who look good, and have good communication skills to represent for them. I work hard to look the way I do, and I'm proud of it too.

Hooters is paying for my college, and the company gave me great skills with dealing with customers, organization, and taking care of myself. If by putting "pretty, young girl" in that question made you think of me as some kind of dumb "bitchy" type then I'm sorry, you're not understanding what I meant to say, or I'm not able to write it in a way that you could comprehend what I mean.

• As I said, if your ONLY qualifications are that you are young and pretty, your job options are limited.
  
  Yes, being young and pretty opens all kinds of doors- but once you have the job, you need to have other skills to keep it.
  
  One of those skills is intelligence- such as the intelligence to realize you put "other" as one of the options on the damn poll.

• I didn't think you were a dumb bitchy type. I just meant that looks won't always pay the bills. Yes, there are some jobs that looks are important, but not the jobs you posted.

• I'm 20 years old, about finished with my Associates and just quit my job at Hooter's. It's been great there, in the past two years I've learned so much from customer service, computer skills, organizational skills, dealing with others, working with others, handling cash, preparing and serving food, bartending, and most of all communication! I probably have some of the best communication skills than most people. It was my job to talk to the customer, make them comfortable, make them feel good about the atmosphere, where they were and who they were with. Make people want to come back, that was what I did for the last two years.
  But now, I'm trying to find a job where I don't have to wear the orange shorts, and leg warmers (the nylons, I liked personally). That leads me to the question, where to turn now? I don't want any answer that has to do with stripping or entertaining in any sexual way. That's what I'm trying to get away from.

• I've read it, and it's a good book and I'm happy for Jenna but I do have either more self respect that she does or I'm not as ballsy as she is. Either way, I couldn't do that to myself, or my family. But if I was an orphan and knew it wouldn't break anyone's heart, I'd do it.

• I live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. It's really competitive here because they're are only three major companies that won't try and screw you over. Otherwise I would totally be doing that!
  Plus, I don't know how to really get started in that area at all? Any ideas, I'd love to hear!

• Pretty girls are everywhere ... companies are looking for someone with skills. Remember beauty fades .. best not to depend on that.
  
  Hooters is not representative of what employers are looking for .. believe me.
  
  Your attitude might make companies look bad and they don't want that either. It will turn people off.

• No you are right for the kind of jobs you are talking about physical attributes are a 'sale' for the company. Hooters is a prime example. These companies however will make young women spend the best years of their lives working there and make them take early retirement. As long as you don't make it a career plan to stay there (because it is a job that not everybody can do and because of that some girls settle there).
  
  I thought you were talking about getting a educated job? In that example it would not matter what you looked like and that is my honest view.
  
  I am not unattractive myself so I know where you are coming from perhaps better than you know. I worked in quite a glamorous job through my early 20's. Somewhere along the time though I suddenly realised how futile it was relying on looks. I found that although I strutted around in a pencil skirt in a office, in 20yrs time i'd end up like the old insecure women I worked with who's looks had faded but who still found themselves in a vain working environment.
  
  That was when I realised I was worth far more than that and when I decided that I wanted to work in a hospital theatre as a operational department practitioner. Nobody can see what my face/hair/bust looks like now under a medical mask and I'm prouder of it than when I was a glamorous graphic designer :)
  
  I don't think you are a dumb bitch :( I wouldn't have wasted my time writing such a long reply if I thought that.
  I just know that feeling 'special' because of looks can lead to a disproportionate sense of importance on looks that only last a for a few years, it can cause some girls to lose sight of what is important (and keep jobs like 'hooters' as spring boards to better things) because life changing 'good' career jobs are not reliant on looks.
