    There can be more than one reason for any individual man.. but the fact is that women do encourage this behaviour.. women will find a man attractive when he already has a partner - I've asked girls out who would have quite happily gone with me if had had a partner but on hearing I was single have wondered what is wrong with me.. who would have thought integrity was a bad characteristic? Women like 'exciting' players - guys who do not care about them and will mess with other women.. rather than 'boring' nice guys - how many women think he'll change for them... Some women withold sex affection as a tool or for other reasons too particularly in early relationships.. men need affection and in our society this usually gets interpreted as sex.. so they would look to keep women on hand in case they lose one.. of course this doesn't affect their ability to choose to be good..

    They seek constant reassurance from outside sources because they are insecure with their masculinity. It doesnt give them the necessary ego boost to get reassurance from you because you are already conquered. In older men, when impotency starts to occur, men generally cannot accept their aging and will project the blame onto their wife. " I'm not old, I just dont get aroused because my wife isnt hot enough." So, they seek out other women to try and prove to themself that it's her aging that is problematic, not his own. Another reason may be that he is simply not committed to the relationship and/or intends to cheat.
