The problem seems to be very basic here.

What is it that you want?

Set the rules and apply them!

Sounds like he's your friend with benefits... literally. Contrary to what seems like popular belief, "friends with benefits" relationships aren't always strictly about sex. Anyway, it is possible that he feels more for you. Don't get your hopes up, though.

Hanging out with a person and supporting them at events is something friends do, but the other behaviors indicate a possible romantic inclination. The only way to really know for sure is to talk to your friend. Do you like him romantically? If so, let him know that you enjoy his company and wouldn't mind being exclusive. If he balks, don't get upset; calmly reply, "That's fine. I appreciate our friendship and I don't want to lose you as a friend." Of course, make sure that you truly are strong enough to withstand the disapointment if he doesn't want to advance the relationship.l
