I'm in the dep(Delayed Entry Program) and did not get the job i wanted, what should i do?

okay i told him that i wanted to be mechanic or something like that.one of the reasons i joined was to be a mechanical engineer and the fact i could not find a college...he me told okay,no problem etc and we would work on it.when i was told the news...he told he that he would work to get the me job,but it seems that he is more concerned with getting a recruit rather than him getting me the job, i do want to quit all together but rather than dragging my feet to work for a year waiting for what he calls "cross training" i could go to UTI and be qualified to do what i love...a year is wayyyyy to long.i been dragging my feet 2 pt and asking is the job available and then i stopped going completely.btw he seems to be trying to rush me to get to bootcamp.

Do what I did when I joined the Navy, tell then the Air Force (other service) just called you with the job you want.
I wanted to work on electronics and I held out for it. Now I'm out; went to school and got my engineering degree.
Choice your rate, choice your fate.

Also in the Navy they have most jobs twice. In that you can be a shipboard mechanic of aviation mechanic. You have double the shot and getting what you want.

Go aviation, they get treated the best.
    Good luck.

If your intentions were to join the Marines just for a particular job and now you want to back out because you didn't get that job. There's the door---------> See ya Seriously, joining the Marines isn't about a particular occupation, it's much more than that. And if you can't realize that before you sign on the dotted line or head off to boot camp, you need to go on to UTI.

My husband was told to. His tested high for mechanic work. They forced him in communications. He was stuck.
