• Or we could remember that there are 4 or more Parties on the ballot and so give one of THEM a chance. Who knows? If enough people voted their conscience, maybe the 'major' parties would wither and die.

• I agree with you and often vote for third party candidates and/or even write-in candidates unless one of the top two choices is significantly worse than the other. Often the other parties are excluded from the ballot in my state, and write-in votes are not counted. (Though yesterday I wrote in names in two of the races anyway.)
  
  I did not vote for a third party candidate for President in 2004 because I considered Bush's power grabs and failure to support our troops in harms way so terrible that he had to go, even if it meant putting baby-murder-is-not-my-business John Kerry in office. At least John Kerry was honest that he wasn't going to do anything to protect the unborn, but I still feel sick that I voted for him. If he'd won, U.S. tax dollars would have funded more abortions overseas and I would have had blood on my hands. I think God understands the difficult choices we are sometimes forced to make in elections, but the more I think about it, the more I fear I am going to have to answer for that vote when I die. Part of me wants to burn for it just to take the guilt away. I'm sure that sounds crazy to most ABers. I just get really depressed the day after election day :( I'll feel better in a few days.
