I'm from California, and I can recognize accents easily. I've always wanted an accent... But to the rest of the world, do we have accents?

    I lived in LA California for over 10 years....Yes, you most certainly do have an accents!
    Try going to NYC...open your mouth and we can all tell you have an accent.

    Everyone has an accent, but not everyone has a distinctive accent, which is probably what you want to know about. I don't know of any accent which is distinctly Californian.

    Everybody has an accent. Now, some groups may be linguistic neutral for their own language, but think of it this way: you go to England, you have a thick American Accent.

    I'm a midwesterner with a linguistically "neutral" American accent, and I rarely find Californians to have an accent. The few that do tend to be from the northern part of the state.

    If you are planning on getting one, I'm sorry to say that it may involve a bit of work.
