I went into a Good Will/Salvation Army thrift shop once just to have a look around and found mysef looking at the shirts.
I've found $30.00 to $60.00 Eddie Bauer, Van Husen, Arrow, Joseph A Banks in excellent condition for between $5.00 and $8.00. In the last three or so years I've only bought 2 "new" shirts. Not long ago someone complimented me on the Eddie Bauer I was wearing and their mouth fell open when I told them it was $8.00 at the Salvation Army.
I'm not only suprised at what I find but also at what people are willing to donate to these places.

For props or costumes, sure why not. For everyday wear, no.
