Moral character, definitely. I don't believe in God myself so why should I base somebody else's trustworthiness on that?

Even when I was a die hard Catholic I still cared more about someone's character than their belief in God.

I did a poll as there wasn't a box for my choice. Basing an opinion on a thing doesn't say which way I do base more of an opinion on if someone believes in god, and it is a trustworthiness opinion but it isn't positive.

Do you trust non-tennis players more than tennis players?
Atheism isn't a thing it's a ridiculous weasel word that theists made up to label everyone else.

I would base it on neither.

"Moral character" is a relative term. My morals are not necessarily your morals. And obviously just because someone believes in God, that does not make them honest or trustworthy. I'm sure some Atheists might even argue it makes them LESS trustworthy.

I trust or distrust a person based solely on their behavior and their actions.

A belief in any deity does not imbue one with any kind of moral or intellectual superiority, combined with the fact that I've been most egregiously screwed over by believers and non-believers alike, I prefer to rely upon evidence over faith, it's safer that way.

How d'ya know they believe in God? I do not have much reason to trust clergy people let alone the church congregation people.
Belief in God or not I'd like to get an intuitive feel for a person before I seriously would trust them.

I don't think that any correlation has been shown between belief in God and levels of trustworthiness. I would be interested in any study which showed that.

There are loads of people who believe in god or gods and are some of the most evil people on the planet, while some of the most trustworthy people on the planet are atheists. I would certainly trust someone who would think of calling an ambulance before praying to gods if something had happened to me, I know some theists would be wise enough to do the right thing, but you just wouldn't know until the situation actually happened and by then it's too late.

Moral character is highly superior to belief in any gods.

Just to show you how hard up", and demented the following of Satan can really be? Can you believe they tried to assume, that I was less a a true Believer in Christ, due to my driving record?? HOW CRAZY IS THAT! But; Romans 7:15,16,17,18,19,20, The bible refers to this as (The inward struggle) And although I'm sealed 3 times over, and HAVE "AN APPROVED RAPTURE STATUS" I still have a sign hanging on my back that says; "I'M STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION"..
