This already happens in many hostage situations and police riots. Nobody expresses outrage when SWAT blows a hole through the head of a junkie with a knife. Why should somebody who is planning the murder of thousands be given better?

Obama was well within his Constitutional authority. And as someone who is usually very critical of Obama, he's done well in this area. First bin Laden, now al Awlaqi. He needs to keep going after the terrorists.

    Hello John:

Our founders knew the answer and it's right there IN the Constitution... It couldn't be clearer, either... "..[no person shall] be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law..".. It's right there in the Fifth Amendment..

I wonder why those Constitution loving right wingers think THAT part doesn't count..

If the person in question is taking refuge in a part of the world where there is no hope of extraditing him back the the US to face trial and is actively engaged in waging war against the US, then I do think that the President has more than the authority to take such a person out. He has the duty to do so.

It's been happening for a long long time. This time there's some public outcry over the WRONG GUY.
