My tap water runs thru a water softener & it makes my aquarium's ph way too high. I wondered if I could use baby water. It ph is a perfect 7. The spring water was high when I checked it. What water can I use? Didn't want to use chemicals to lower it.

The ph level in my freshwater aquarium is off the chart sky high, even the pet store owner is amazed. My water from the tap is perfect. Everything in my tank is purchased from WalMart or a pet store. I am frustrated, it shouldn't be this much trouble.

I have ten gallon aquarium. I recently re-did it, put in black rocks. I have fantail goldfish in it. Ever since I redid it my AquaClear Foam filter insert has turned pink. I have changed the filter twice and cleaned the aquarium. Turned pink every time.
