I have an open front porch. When it rains the moisture gets in and stays on the wood for long periods. Someone told me that unless I enclosed the porch, it will rot away in a few years. True or not?

I am trying to winterize my outdoor jacuzzi tub and the deck was built around the jacuzzi tub so i can't get to the access panel to get to the drain plug. Will this cause my drain plug to freeze and what issues will I have if i can't do this maintenance?

I needed some rotted boards replaced on the deck of my front porch. The original boards were dovetailed, The contractor that replaced them just laid planks flush against each other without the dovetailing. They eventually warped. Why didn't he dovetail?
