My Ruby game was working just fine but now it froze up when i saved it and now after 30 minites it freezes while i save it? what should i do?

My 93 saturn sometimes clunks really bad in reverse and feels like the tranny is slipping when going forward when i first start it.. i shut it off and start it back up and its fine what is my problem?
