PlayStation 2 Disc Tray Issues.

My PS2 turns off automatically ONLY when I put a disc in. When there is no disc, I can close the lid and my ps2 stays on. Please help!

My slim PS2 will turn on, but only if there is no disc in it. If you put a disc in, and close the lid, the power light goes from green to red to off. However, if you keep the lid open, the light stays green. Can anybody help?
