Can Windows 95 or Windows 98 still be used on the latest new computers or not? Have you used the software on a new computer?

My OS (Win98SE) keeps crashing and I think it is due to a registry error. I have a reg file that contains a full backup of the registry when it was working, but regedit won't let me overwrite the entire registry while the OS is running. Suggestions?
