I have an integra '94 ls with automatic transmission. Reverse, 1 and 2 are fine. Shifting out to 3 or 4 takes at least 4,000 rpm (accelerating to at least that rpm and then releasing it) which is too much, normally was about 2,000 rpm. What's the problem?

Acura Integra 1990. While driving, the car has died - 3 times now. Charging the drained battery helps briefly, then it dies again. Alternator apparently good. Battery recently replaced. Car died today but ran fine while hooked up to a portable booster.
