I think perhaps the categories are necessary..and to simplify it just list their activities under the one name....ie Schwarzenegger for all of his activies.

Thanks for inviting input, Rich! I think the current category is fine. "Celebrity" pretty much covers everyone famous. However, you raise a good point. Once they are dead, do they remain in the same category, alphabetized by name? (A-H, etc.) I think they should. If you created sub-categories (living or dead) we would still search by name. Often I do not know if someone has passed, and think they are still living. So...I think the current category works.

Are labels revelant? Don't believe so. For some it turns into a pecking order status game. "I'm a scholar", "I'm an engineer with a degree", "Well, I'm an engineer with 3 degrees", etc....
Do they belong on Answerbag - no.

I do not think they should.
Informally we have such a division already, with questions about Arnold the moviestar under films, Arnold the politician under politics, etc.
Fine by me.
Also AnswerBag have been there for a while now, and things that were important to the teen should be left behind in its appropriate category. We all laugh at the ignorant 'Am I Pregnant' questions, but surely some of us have also asked it at some time :-))

There have been times when (what da ben dan has described) has happened to me to. But, upon a refresh of my browser, the intended page is back to the way it should have been.
And by the way, when I copy and pasted the link into my browser, it did not pull up the intended question, but instead, pulled up a category page for the "Health" category.

I recently posted questions that were celebrity related, but not film/movie related. I was looking for a more generic category, such as stars and celebrities. I think movie stars really should be a separate category because there are some very quiet stars that really never achieve as much celebrity noise as the fleeting sex tape celebs. Maybe a category under Life & Society for generic celebs and then broken down as needed into Web, Music, etc. That way art questions and tech questions don't get confused with general celeb curiosity buzz questions. I'm sure Rachel Globus would agree.
