You'll never guess what they're packing.
It’s slightly telling that no less than two of the top five viewed questions on Answerbag in February were about what to get a guy for Valentine’s Day. Meanwhile, precisely NONE of the top 500 questions were about what a guy should get a girl. Ladies, keep that in mind come February 2012.
Without further ado, the top five most viewed questions of February 2011:
5. Blah: taxes. Apparently people had nothing better to do last month than remind us procrastinators that we haven't even started thinking about taxes yet, by asking: If your employer doesn’t send you your W-2 forms, what can you do? Unfortunately, some of their employers haven't either. Thanks to one Anonymous user for sharing W-2 tax tips, straight from the horse’s mouth.
4. What should you get a man on Valentine’s Day? I think the wisdom of the crowd is right in awarding Miss Awesome the top spot for her answer, “I don't think most men really care that much.”
Also, answers 2 through 35 are “sex.” So that pretty much covers it.
3. Did PETA go too far with its NSFW Super Bowl ad? This is surely the most NSFW video about vegetarianism ever to be produced (except for every other video PETA has ever made), so it’s no surprise it was the third most viewed question for the month of February.
And the best answer, in typical Answerbag style, was just one simple question: “Is that a leather sofa in the background?”
Good eye, ilona, good eye.
2. On Wednesday, February 16, the U.K.’s Channel 4 aired “The Elephant: Life after Death”—reportedly, a fascinating exploration of how the death of an elephant feeds into the food chain. The program also happened to mention that hyenas have pseudo penes. Um, what? Yeah, you’re not the only one who wanted to know more, because on the same day, traffic to this question jumped, oh, approximately 5,300%: Why does a female hyena have a pseudo (false) penis?
1. What is a good gift to give to your boyfriend on Valentine’s Day? Kaskaseroko had one thoughtful idea: “To know that someone loves you is the best gift I have received.” But if that doesn't work, definitely try a “nice leather belt, or a wallet,” as justme32 loves the weekends suggested.
Lastly, kudos to the askers of Answerbag's top questions:

Seems to me that nos. 1 and 4 basically are duplicates.

Ah, interesting point, but here's why I don't consider them duplicates.
First, let's look at the full questions, which I edited down for the blog: "What should u get a man on Valentines Day?" and "What is a good gift to give to your boyfriend on Valentines Day? Guys, help me out... What do u want? Girls... Name some things plz!"
The official definition of a duplicate on Answerbag is that a duplicate question is a different way of posing the same question that does not require a different answer from the original.
So, "How do I clean grass stains out of carpet?" is a duplicate of "How do I clean grass stains in carpet?" because answers would be exactly the same. However, "What's your favorite drink on a summer day?" is not a duplicate of "What's your favorite drink?," because answers would likely be quite different. (Favorite drink? Hot chocolate. Fave beverage on a summer day? Not sure, but it's definitely not hot chocolate!)
Although the two questions here are admittedly similar, since the second question (our #1 most visited for February!) specifically asks for men's and women's perspectives on Valentine's gifts for men, it requires a different answer from a question that simply asks for men's gift ideas.
Thanks for bringing this up!

And of course the celebrated member "Answerbag Staff" can ask an identical question numerous times with no danger of any of them being declared duplicates, because there is no 'Duplicate' flag when you click 'Report' on Answerbag Staff questions.

If you see any duplicates, please report them in the PRA Forum.

Well, Rachel, thanks for letting us know through your attitude that you are not behind the wrongful duplicates being approved at all! I wonder who is, though.

how about a couple of dozen get out of a fight cards where at anytime during the year you are barking at him about the fence that needs fixing or that you expect him to go to brunch with your mother he can produce the card and you have to drop it and never talk about it again otherwise you get no valentines present next year or a weekend with your buddies card or come home late and loaded card
