Instructions

Narcotics

  • Step 1:
    Vicodin and Percocet are both narcotic analgesics, also termed opioids because they derive from opium. Narcotic analgesics are narcotic drugs that relieve pain.

Acetaminophen

  • Step 1:
    Both of the prescription drugs also contain non-narcotic acetaminophen, commonly known as Tylenol. Individuals taking either drug should not supplement it with over-the-counter acetaminophen.

Habitual

  • Step 1:
    Vicodin and Percocet both carry a risk of becoming habit forming. You should never take more than your prescribed amount.

Vicodin Regulation

  • Step 1:
    Vicodin is not quite as strong as Percocet and therefore can be called in to your pharmacy by your physician.

Percocet Regulation

  • Step 1:
    Percocet is slightly more regulated than Vicodin. Your physician cannot call it into your pharmacy and therefore you will need a written prescription script.
