Start with the longest word and write it into a row anywhere on the sheet.Step 3: Fill in more squares with the letters of words on your list. Make sure all words have a connecting letter from another word. Try to balance the words out with 30 down and 30 across if possible.Step 4: When you have all of the words in place use an ink pen or marker to define the blocks or squares by outlining them all. Blank squares must be solidly filled in.Step 5: Photo copy your crossword in progress. This copy will be the answer key. Darken the letters with the ink pen on the copied answer key if you need to. Number each set of words across and down on the answer key.Step 6: Erase all the penciled in letters on your original paper. Take the ink pen or marker and number the beginning square of each word in the puzzle to match the answer key.
