Instructions

Comparing Pills

  • Step 1:
Compare your white pills to the other pills that you have and are already identified. If you have similar pills in a prescription bottle, you may be able to identify the unknown pill that way. Because the pill may not belong to you, check all family members' prescription bottles.

Using the Internet

  • Step 1:
Visit a pill identifier website. Sites like Drugs.com and Pharmer.org have online questionnaires that will help you identify the unknown white pill. With these sites you will input the shape, color/shade of the pill, along with any identifying markers.

Visit a Pharmacist

  • Step 1:
Put your white pills in a baggie if you are still unable to identify them. Take the baggie to your local pharmacy with the pharmacist, The pharmacist should be able to identify the white pill for you. It should be noted that if the pill is an illegal substance or if the pharmacist believes that it was not prescribed to you, he may not return it but discard the pill instead.
