How to Troubleshoot a Gateway Stylus Pen

Instructions

  • Step 1:
    Reboot your system the minute you notice your stylus pen is not working. This usually happens as a result of the computer not recognizing the stylus pen. This might also be a power management issue, which is common with laptops and tablet notebooks. Reboot. If rebooting does not work, then check your power manager in the control panel in windows. Adjust the settings so that the scheme does not divert power from ports and peripherals.
  • Step 2:
    Check the manual that came with your tablet notebook or stylus pen. If you are using a Finepoint digitizer, then your stylus pen has most likely drained the battery. You cannot access the battery, therefore you must order a new stylus pen. The Gateway CX200, CX210, M280, and M285 utilize a different digitizer than other computers.
  • Step 3:
    Purchase the Gateway E-295C as an alternative to troubleshooting your stylus. This tablet has a battery-free Executive Stylus, and is good for canvas-style paint graphics.
