  • Comic bags
  • Comic boards
  • Comic books
  • Box
  • Phone book
  • Internet access
  • Step 1:
    Gather together your comics and make sure they are in good condition. Make a list of what you own including the condition of each one and note any damage to the books.
  • Step 2:
    Protect the books by placing each one in a special comic book bag with a comic board. Store all of the books in a box until you can sell them.
  • Step 3:
    Look through the telephone book for comic book stores in your area. Call each one and ask about their buying policies. In some cases they may come directly to your home, but this usually only happens if you have a large collection. If they require you to visit the store, take along all of the books you want to sell.
  • Step 4:
    Listen for their quote they offer and get the quote in writing. Visit several stores or buyers to see who offers the best price.
  • Step 5:
    Research the value of your comic books online. While you won’t earn book price for each one, you can expect to see 50 to 75 percent of that value depending on the condition.
  • Step 6:
    Check out eBay and other similar sites to see what prices your comic books are bringing. If you can make more selling the comic books yourself, it might be worthwhile to do so.
  • Step 7:
    Decide what option you like best: selling to a dealer or selling the books yourself. Once you make a final decision, call the stores back and let them know.
